Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365

Backup all O365 app data to VM server in Azure, however this can be costly for all the storage needed.

Solved our backup and DR for O365 app data.

Pros

  • backs up all o365 data if you have enough licensing
  • easy to configure in 1 day
  • restore is painless

Cons

  • better way to receives updates in software
  • helped to pass audits
  • helped cyber security insurance compliance
We needed to have a backup copy of data as Microsoft does not backup your data.
In my opinion, anyone can follow the online guides for quick and easy setup.
We average 3-5 restores per month. Without the software all this data would have been lost
We average 1-3 restores per month in 0365. Without the software all this data would have been lost
The broad variety of restore options including restore to Office 365 or on-premises hardware.

emailing me when backups fail so I can open a ticket or fix issue the next day.
I actually moved to Barracuda but only for O365 app. I was able to pay per user and backup and save all data, forever.
Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 support has always been good. I would recommend to use them more often on any setup question. They have always been very helpful to us.

I think it's easy setup but needs consistent maintenance

In my experience, backing up exchange archive mailboxes can take long time so you need to be ready for extending backup times.
