Overall Satisfaction with WordPress
We use WordPress for building and updating our cafe's website. As the owner WordPress is easy enough for me to make simple updates and for more difficult updates we have a web administrator that assists. WordPress helps us to have a presence on the web and the abilities to also showcase our offerings and push online sales.
- Easy to add and update existing content.
- Provides a lot of possibilities (ex. plug-ins, templates, etc.).
- Many tutorials available for beginners.
- Built-in drag and drop capability.
- Poor website SEO.
- Make it more secure and less vulnerable to hackers.
- Helps us make important contributions to offline sales.
- Helped improve our brand equity by providing us great styling options.
- Due to providing us a responsive website we are able to capture mobile conversions and drive sales.
- Due to being easily customisable and user-friendly we have reducing external management costs leaving more money for us to utilize in other places.
I have used Wix websites for another business and although they have a free version it's littered with advertisements. In order to eliminate the advertisements you have to upgrade to a paid plan. The Wix paid plans do not include any apps. You must later choose to buy any needed apps from the Wix app market to use on your website. Whereas the WordPress software is open source, and it is available for free for anyone to use. You do have to pay for hosting and for your domain name with WordPress. However, cost is still less than Wix and you're allowed to choose your own providers for those options. Overall, WordPress beats Wix with flexible plans and a variety of free plug-ins and add-ons. The only reason to choose Wix over WordPress is if you're willing to pay more for drag and drop capabilities versus having to have an eye for style and layout.
