Overall Satisfaction with Workfront

It's being used by the marketing department for new work requests, resource planning, project management, and asset sharing through document approval. Currently, one other team outside of marketing uses it (a project manager in our enterprise leadership division) and I am currently working with our candidate sourcing division to bring them on board to manage one of their largest accounts. It helps people stay on task and we use a lot of its reporting features to answer questions about productivity. It's also great to use one system instead of three to accomplish the intake, management, and completion of work.
  • Report/Dashboard creation
  • Document Approval
  • Grouping capabilities in to portfolios and programs.
  • API stability and SOLID integration with ProofHQ/DAM
  • Workfront should provide the ability for admins to pull "historical project timeline" reports. Microsoft Project archives different versions of project timelines for comparison purposes - Workfront should copy this functionality.
  • Workfront should provide the ability to archive project templates.
  • UX - having multiple "More" dropdowns on a single page is confusing. The system is great overall but could be made a lot more intuitive.
  • Workfront allowed us to prove that task management was on time (we are on average ahead of the planned completion date by 1 day) but that approval for assets creates bottlenecks (on average, we are behind by 1 day past the due date when approving documents/assets).
  • In Q4, the Creative Services team in the Marketing department completed 68 projects with 1,774 tasks. For all of 2016, we had a total of 338 projects with 9,272 tasks, a YOY increase of work by 20%.
  • Every quarter our creative services team is reviewed by the teams who request work from us. Between process revisions and system training over the last year, Workfront significantly helped us improve everyone's day to day work experience. Specifically in Q4 (numbers are rounded up)::
  • Our Creativity rating increased by 80%.
  • Our Timeliness rating increased by 47%.
  • Our Overall Quality of Work rating increased by 73%.
  • Our Easy to Do Business With rating, rated as easy or very easy, increased by 29%.
They could not prove to us that they were able to replicate a lot of the functionality that we liked about Workfront. We stuck with Workfront because when we talked to friends at other companies in similar "creative departments," most of them are using multiple systems to accomplish what we're doing with Workfront. We also were not confident in their ability to keep data separate between different portfolios. Finally, they lacked the ability to provide a customer testimonial from a former Workfront client who switched to inMotion even though they said they had "lots of former Workfront customers."
Workfront is great for the following use cases:

1) Companies who use multiple systems to intake, assign, manage, and complete work.
2) Companies who use e-mail for everything and have process but no way to report on productivity.
3) Any company who has departments that need a way to report on metrics such as time, resource availability, and work volume.
