Overall Satisfaction with Workfront

Unifying multiple team projects across more than one platform. Workfront allows our IT teams in a corporate environment to collaborate and work on individual team goals. Our IT teams are spread across not only the United States but global locations. Workfront enables us to work collaboratively toward common tasks and goals/resolutions.

Pros

  • Team Collaboration: Workfront provides a cross-platform unified landing where teams can work together towards the completion of large projects
  • Communication: Workfront provides multiple team communication tools including email integration.
  • Ease of Use: The Workfront platform, although rich in features, is very easy to navigate and users will find its layout highly intuitive.

Cons

  • Instant messaging and IM systems integration such as Skype would be an excellent addition.
  • Browser plugins to streamline research tasks.
  • Multi systems alerts for "All Hands on Deck" type situations regarding project management.
  • Thirty US dollars + per month, per user, can get a bit pricey for the mid-size business. I am not sure what their enterprise business pricing is, however, I imagine the ROI is well worth it as many corporations I have worked for use Workfront for both project management as well as timesheet tracking.
I have not used any platforms that are on par with workfront. Previous teams I have worked on have used Google spaces for collaboration, which in no way comes close to what workfront can do.
The Workfront platform ranks high on the scale of collaboration, both internal as well as external. This platform was deigned with collaboration at its very core. With multiple teams spread across not only the United States but Globally, Workfront enables seamless collaboration, communication and the ability to complete cascading assignments.
I know that our company uses Workfront for timesheet tracking, however, I am not part of said team. The layout and user interface for timesheet tracking is just as intuitive as the project management interface.
I work on a team where each of us is separated individually from the United States. Workfront enables us to collectively collaborate on a common project setting individual goals. Project managers can invite users, send out updates and set goals to be marked as complete by individual users. Definitely an AAA+ option for global team project collaborations. Smaller projects with fewer working participants would most likely not benefit from the ROI for this product, however, if these smaller tasks are building to a larger project or your teams have multiple small projects running simultaneously then Workfront is for you as well.
