Overall Satisfaction with Zix
We are dealing with a healthcare company that requires HIPAA compliance and this was the easier way to effect that across email. We are able to effect protection of all the areas covered by the regulator with minimal interference by us and ease of use for the users and recipients of the encrypted emails. The rules are standard so it was as simple as switching them on without any additional configuration from our side. In addition to this it was extremely easy to set up trigger words that would encrypt the email if required even if it did not have HIPAA-specific information in it.

We had one situation where the emails were being encrypted even though it was not required. I was not comfortable to make changes in the back end so I opened a ticket for them to investigate, giving specific emails as examples of what was being encrypted that should not have been. Once the support team received the ticket they very quickly analyzed the issue and kept me up to date at every step until the issue was resolved.
Our most critical decision to purchase ZIX was the ease of use for the person sending and receiving the encrypted email. We could not have the situation where the receiver had to go to a web site and download an agent or plugin in order to read the email. We could not have the situation where the sender needed to have an agent or plugin running in order to send the email. This requirement is satisfied with Zix.
