Chose Hootsuite
In my opinion, Hootsuite is like a social media version of Mailchimp. I have not looked into many alternative software programs, as I've inherited Hootsuite in my role and saw no need to change. Hootsuite does what I need it to do at a reasonable price point. There may be …
Chose Hootsuite
We prefer to use Hootsuite for socials and Mailchimp for email. Both have great features, but we like to keep these separated. It just works out better for our team this way, as we don't want too many hands on the email side of things.
Chose Hootsuite
Tried trials of other software and was disappointed compared to Hootsuite.com. Buffer and Later.com had limited functionality. MetaBusiness Suite and MailChimp offer a limited number of platforms you can post too. HubSpot and SproutSocial were extremely costly and geared toward …
Chose Hootsuite
We used Hootsuite because it was one of the bigger players in the space and we wanted to give it a try due to it's position in the market and the trust others had for it. We found it didn't exactly meet our needs and moved on to something else.
Chose Hootsuite
I do like Later quite a bit for Instagram. It is a slightly scaled-back version of Hootsuite with fewer bells and whistles, but it is also much cheaper. If you run a large agency like I do, Hootsuite is better. For a smaller agency with fewer clients, I would choose Later. …
Chose Hootsuite
We love saving time by having our content scheduled through Hootsuite, so we do not have to worry about posting every day. Also, we no longer have to search and scroll to find and engage with our target market; they are all right there on our home page on Hootsuite. Plus, when …
Chose Hootsuite
I had almost the same pros and cons by using the two softwares, even though on one side Zoho Social gave me tips and hints about the scheduling process (something that hootsuite does not have as a feature). At the beginning I thought this was a valuable point, but then the …

Chose Intuit Mailchimp
We use Hootsuite for social media integration but it doesn't meet the needs of Mailchimp. Mailchimp addresses what I think is the most valuable part of our business: growing our email lists.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
It's been years since I used Hootsuite and I used it to schedule posts on our social media channels. I do not need to use Intuit Mailchimp for this.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp is just an easier solution and works across all of the different scenarios. I cant think of any situation concerning emails where I would not recommend mailchimp. It is our default.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
For us, Mailchimp was the right choice because of a variable of reasons but ultimately price. For the features that Mailchimp has, we weren't able to find a comparable solution within our price range. Our decision was also influenced by our experience with Mailchimp using its …

I'll answer the second one because I mean, the first one I don't have an issue with. The second scenario is we oftentimes have the need to spin off very small campaign style sites or sites that generate leads but are unbranded and that sort of thing. So that's hard to do in AEM because you have to then create another organization within AEM to do that. And we're talking about sites that are maybe five to 10 pages in size. So we've been investigating Edge, but then that's a different workflow, so we'd have to train people on that. So it would be nice if there was something within the AEM structure that could allow you to do something very similar to Edge, where you make some small micro sites that are not necessarily branded, that you could still host within the platform and not have to retrain everybody on a completely different platform.

Hootsuite is well-suited for agencies managing multiple clients or scheduling multiple posts regularly across different channels. It's also appropriate for companies where the review process isn't streamlined or well-defined. But it's not well-suited for small brands that aren't regular on social media or for brands that focus heavily on real-time or trend-driven content, like TikTok or Twitter.

For any E-commerce related needs, like you need to see a list of customers who have added products to cart but did not purchase, this can be done really easily, but if your e-commerce provider provides integration, then it is best suited. Most of the systems in the Market provide out-of-the-box integration. Their API is also very easy it can be integrated to any language. You can integrate it into your custom developed system and use the features, like adding customers to specific lists. Also, if your lists become really big, then their system can get a bit slow to respond via API, so you might need a strategy for how you are gonna fetch the data using API.

Pros
Adobe
  • It allows us to scale so that we can make a change on a global footer. And it applies to all of the different property websites. It allows us to set up components and compartmentalize things in a way. The big thing is that it's scalable. And then it also ties into Adobe Analytics and other Adobe products. So we are a complete Adobe shop. Every Adobe product that we can use, we use. I don't think we do it for marketing so much, but for doing target testing and analytics, data scientists are using the same product and so it all speaks.

  • Mailchimp has features where you can create campaigns based on your mailing lists and send out newsletters to your subscribers based on a multitude of parameters that you can setup. Such as send email daily, weekly, monthly and they also have event based mails that you can send out.
  • Mailchimp also has a feature where you can design your emails. The look and aesthetics are very important when sending emails to your subscribers and all those needs are addressed here.

Cons
Adobe
  • Can sometimes be difficult to troubleshoot bugs/issues as they arise
  • Sometimes difficult to set up restrictions on how components can be designed to make sure they fit in with existing content
  • While the integration with Adobe target works fairly well, the process can be a bit opaque and hard to understand, making it difficult to troubleshoot when issues arise

  • TikTok is an area for improvement as it's newer to Hootsuite. It would be beneficial to be able to link non-business profiles on TikTok to Hootsuite as many businesses use personal accounts to access TikTok's expansive music library.
  • Hootsuite does have room to improve the analytics capabilities. There could be more ways to customize each aspect of their reports. There isn't much manipulation of data in each type of data set.
  • Simplicity is an area of improvement for Hootsuite. The streams are one example of an area that is super cluttered and difficult to view. Their platform could really use an aesthetic overhaul to make things look more pleasing.

We had and still have a fantastic experience using Adobe CQ. Lots of flexibility, great integration with other Adobe products we already use and a powerful technology make it a great fit for our corporate environment. Also as the community grows, it makes it easier to network with other developers and users to get new ideas on how to continue to get the best out of the software.

At this time we are satisfied that Hootsuite offers the most of what we are looking for at the most reasonable price point. As the social media landscape and monitoring/scheduling software changes, so do our needs. We re-evaluate our tools semi-annually or as new tools emerge onto the market. If we find at any point that we aren't gaining an advantage, then we are open to switching products.

We've had Mailchimp for about ten years, I want to say. I started with the company about four years ago, and I don't see us ever diverting to another source. It depends if it is from an administrator point of view or from a business content author point of view. I think from business author point of view the solution is good and with the GEN AI capabilities coming it is doing better and better, however from an administration point of view there are still a lot of improvements to ease the maintenance of user access management and as well as the integration configuration aspect.

Being part of Adobe Suite means you are already notified when the tool has any outages. However, I have never faced unplanned outages. Whenever you face any issue with the site, it is clearly stated if there were any planned outages and how quickly you will be back to normal. So, I will say that even the outages are planned and managed in a great way like their other services.

With respect to performance, Adobe experience manager is one of the best in the CMS space. We didn't observe frequent slowness on platform, however the systems which are accessing experience manager should be of good specifications without which slowness would be observed. Adobe experience manager works well in integration with other solutions, unless the destination application is designed to trigger frequent calls to AEM.

Adobe Experience Manager, in all its capacity, is a great alternative to any other CMS you are using. Depending on your individual needs, It is really quite simple to create an authoring experience for a website that looks really good. Overall, I prefer AEM as an enterprise site management tool. It allows levels of access control and delegation, while leaving the server management and updates to a specialized team. Instead of being directly involved in the tool purchase, I am involved in analysis or what we can use to maximize the tool. Small organizations may find it expensive. However, if the team or organization focuses more on your ROI or the features you will get, then it will definitely be worth it. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including team size or the use of the tool. The user can select the pricing option that best fits their needs based on the number of form submissions they make or the number of pages they wish to publish on their global/multisite sites.

Mailchimp over the years I've used it has grown in leaps and bounds. They have added so many additional features than were previously available. They are truly an all-in-one marketing platform now. If you're a small operation and just want to add email to your marketing efforts, they're there for you. If you're a larger operation and want to start sending postcard advertisements, they can do that. If you'd good with that and want to kick up your marketing by going social, you can do that on their platform. They are truly able to be as small as you need, but also get quite large in whatever it is you'd like to do through their system.
