It has a comment option on the page, where you can tag other teammates tagging them. it sends the mail notification. Comment at the page end is pretty good for referring to other stakeholders and future references of the topic on the page. Creating the highlights of the discussions, and meeting held points with highlighted tagging. Easy shortcuts such as to add a date just type "//". The interface is cool and has easy shortcuts for quick page making.

The main reason why I recommend it is because this platform will help you strengthen your decision-making, and it will provide you with various options to consider so that you can implement the software that you want so much. In addition, I recommend this platform because you will be able to make various comparisons between various software, compare the characteristics, functions, and opinions of each of them, and choose the one that most captures your attention. I recommend this platform for small, medium, or large companies, using it does not have any additional cost. Finally, they can learn various strategies to start using the software they have just implemented.

    • SourceForge Offers a fairly detailed platform section in which you can find a large list of software available for a specific area, and they also have a list of alternatives that can help you implement much better software with better features. The software listings that SourceForge offers have many alternatives, I can even find some software that is not so well known in the market.
    • This platform also has a public forum, where you can find help and you can make debates about some specific software about a problem you have with software coding, the forum is quite active, so when you have a doubt you can solve the with the help of people who use the forum consecutively. This is one of the most beneficial functions for me, since it is in the software sector of my company, the discussion forum is quite useful.
    • SourceForge It has quite detailed reviews about specific software. This is one of the most outstanding features of this platform because the reviews help them to have a better choice of a platform. The reviews within these platforms are very complete, they have positive and negative characteristics about specific software.

    Cons

    Atlassian

    • Navigation. Similar to other Atlassian products, users have complained that aspects of Confluence are difficult to learn right away[.]
    • An issue that users can face when using Confluence is attempting to edit a document while someone else is editing. Although users can access the document and save it, they are unable to see the changes happening in [real-time] that other users are implementing until they refresh their page. Some users have also noted that this can result in loss of edits.
    • Another drawback of using Confluence is its specific organizational structure. All information is stored within one page or project, although the page is able to be broken up into sections, some users do not prefer this style. Users can use the ‘page tree’ on each page to organize the different elements of each project.

    • I have only presented a single drawback, the antispam filter, I know that it is an important security system for the platform, however, it interrupts the user experience and does not make the moment when uploading a review comfortable. It has only happened to me a couple of times, when I have not committed spam, it would be ideal if this error was solved, it would give a better user experience, comfort when uploading reviews and give fewer scares to its users when that window appears.

I am confident that Atlassian can come with additional and innovative macros and functions to add value to Confluence. In 6 months, Atlassian transformed a good collaborative tools into a more comprehensive system that can help manage projects and processes, as well as "talk" with other Atlassian products like Jira. We are in fact learning more about Jira to evaluate a possible fit to complement our tool box.

Souceforge was very straightforward and easy to manage. The leads worked for us so there is not a lot else to say about why I'd use it again. This isn't some complicated software product, it is a simple inbound marketing channel that is meant to generate leads and help us with brand awareness and it did exactly that.

      Usability

      Atlassian

Confluence can - and in my personal opinion, it will - be a bit hard to use in the first moment. Atlassian is a great company and is eager to help you with any question you have, though. The interface seems to be a bit clumsy at first but the customization options are enough to make it easier and simpler. In general, Confluence is easy to use when you understand what each section does, but this can take a while.

SourceForge offers so many features for a technology review platform. They have some really unique ones that let potential new customers search for your product in really personalized and innovative ways. When you first load the edit screen, it may be a bit overwhelming at first because there are so many customizable fields, but their documentation and support is good and each field provides a ton of value.

      Performance

      Atlassian

Pages load very quickly, which makes it useful for quickly obtaining information. The search functionality is also very quick and is able to parse through all of the documents to provide the most relevant results for the query. Other information based software gets bogged down, but so far Atlassian Confluence maintains its performance.

      Support Rating

      Atlassian

This rating is specifically for Atlassian's self-help documentation on their website. Often times, it is not robust enough to cover a complex usage of one of their features. Frequently, you can find an answer on the web, but not from Atlassian. Instead, it is usually at a power user group elsewhere on the net.

I hardly ever use the support on SourceForge, as I have not needed it. Their product works well for me. One time I had to email them and they got back to me the same day, but that's my only experience.

When we first signed up, they pair you with a campaign manager who trained us on how to use the product properly. The product is simple so the training was only about 30 minutes and after that we understood all the features and how to make the most of it. Most of the work came with making a custom landing page and building a follow up process for our sales team.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the initial implementation (and the subsequent upgrades and implementations made over the years).

      Alternatives Considered

      Atlassian

I haven't use any other software that I could compare to AtlassianConfluence. The closest one would be Sharepoint, but it's a different beast. Sharepoint has more feature, but it's a lot harder to use and understand. Furthermore like many Microsoft solutions the UI is terrible and very difficult to understand sometimes. Atlassian Confluence is just plain easy to use.

G2 has a larger commitment time upfront and for a more expensive rate, which wasn't the best option for our team as we were just exploring the resources that existed out there at the time. We preferred Sourceforge as well due to its subscription service, making it easier to commit from the start.

SourceForge has been plenty scalable for us. Our marketing department is able to edit listings and our executives can also log in to the platform if need be for leads and reporting information. SourceForge offers multiple user access and role permissions, so it's pretty scalable and easy to use for our entire team.

      Return on Investment

      Atlassian

      • We've gone from folders and folders of Word documents and PDFs into a single system with a search feature to bring all of our data together and trackable
      • While onboarding took a bit longer for the company (to switch from a Word document centric mindset - to a web-based one), overall the company has embraced the features and power of Confluence within the working stack
      • However, as costs continue to climb for the Atlassian product, we are forced to continue our evaluation of the product - with replacing it a remote possibility if it begins to outprice its usefulness to us.

      • The comparison system is excellent, it has helped us to compare several different software to know which is the best and why thus we have replaced some software solutions in our sector.
      • We have shared our opinions about software that we use in our company and this has helped the creators of the software to sometimes solve the problems that we have had with the program that they have sold us.
      • The productivity of our company has changed exponentially as we have revamped the software we use based on feedback we have read on SourceForge.
