Considered Both Products
Built for Teams
Chose Built for Teams
Slightly different focuses and I still use both. Microsoft Visio is great for creating all kinds of diagrams. Whereas Built for Tens is more about people management, so you can set up who is where and track their relationships through the other individuals in the organization. …
Chose Built for Teams
not sure this isn't part of my role we used to use Insperity premiere for booking vacation since that’s our hr/payroll system but apparently built is better for this. I’m not sure why we switched but it is fairly easy to use and customize. Insperity was harder to access.
Chose Built for Teams
Built for Teams is super easy to use and program (unlike our old SharePoint intranet). It is extremely cost-effective as compared with Sharepoint. Our employees love the info that is instantly at their fingertips. They also love having the app on their phones to request time …
Chose Built for Teams
Comparable systems. We thought that Built for Teams fit our employee culture better.
Chose Built for Teams
We use the program for different purposes. JustWorks is good because it provides more services like payment tracking and information on insurance, compared to built for teams. But Built for Teams still has good use from an employee information perspective. That's why my company …
Proliant
Chose Proliant
As far as functionality and performance under the standard, but pricing, they are the best!
Chose Proliant
Proliant is way above Quickbooks!

For years Quickbooks fumbled and messed up so many things for my business and every time I would try to resolve them I would receive conflicting solutions from the Quickbooks representatives whom spoke very little English.
Chose Proliant
I actually like Proliant better! I have been highly impressed with the software, the usability and particularly the client service.
Chose Proliant
I don't remember who else we looked at, but Proliant was the easiest to use and at a similar cost.
Chose Proliant
Proliant is much more user-friendly than the alternatives we've considered
Chose Proliant
The system as a whole is very similar in a lot of ways to what we demoed with Paycom and what we used with ADP. I would say that payroll is significantly simpler with Proliant than it was with ADP. Having a designated account manager and point of contact was a main selling …
Chose Proliant
I think Proliant provides the best customer service out of any platform I have used. There are, however, some areas where there could be improvement. It is difficult to enter Holidays, and the add or remove PTO. The ease of connection with the Benefits Portal is a plus as well …
Chose Proliant
We liked the Proliant site and app better than Asure, it is more reliable and much easier to navigate.
Chose Proliant
Paycom, Paylocity and Toast Payroll & Team Management
Chose Proliant
Proliant is incredibly easy to use and has the most available integrations compared to others I have used. Additionally, Proliant has great customer service and I am always able to connect with a live person with minimal delay.
Chose Proliant
We went a completely different direction with Proliant, so it isn't comparable.
Chose Proliant
Proliant seemed to be a better interface, but I think we were wrong.
Chose Proliant
We chose Proliant due to local customer service and pricing.
Chose Proliant
Proliant is outstanding in comparison to TimeClock Plus, Timeclock Plus was terrible when it came to reports, integrations. Not user-friendly at all, too many manual processes, not able to process the entire payroll, just a timekeeping tool basically.
Chose Proliant
Proliant is the only payroll software I have used, and I don't plan on changing that anytime soon. It gives me everything I need in simple, easy-to-use software. If I have questions they have quality customer service. I get calls weekly to change to other payroll services, …

If you are managing PTO for numerous employees, this program is the best. It is easy to read, easy to use and easy to maintain. The app is especially nice for our employees to check balances and to put in requests for time off from the road. There are probably more robust software solutions for extremely large organizations, but I really think the Built for Teams is one of the best out there.

I recommend Proliant based on the customizable aspects and customer service of the team. Their teams are incredibly easy to work with and the system is on par with even the most expensive payroll and HRIS systems on the market. I highly recommend Proliant for fellow restaurant industry colleagues for ease of use and price point.

Cons
  • Our biggest problem has been integration with other packages. We still have to create or delete users in other systems. It would be nice to have automated integrations with those systems.

  • I cannot get RPO to be changed to how it needs to be for our business needs (when T&L employees move to salaried, for example). I have had several meetings regarding this and it still is not fixed -- more than a year later
  • Slow response from employee.helpdesk@proliant.com often leads me to send messages to payroll administrator for response
  • I believe we are paying for some added services; I do not know what these services are and I've asked on several occasions to have someone contact me about this.

Proliant is pretty easy to maneuver and get used to. There are some things than can be tedious but nothing too difficult where you have to spend hours to get it to work. The payroll processing is pretty straightforward and that's the core reason why we use their software.

We use the program for different purposes. Justworks is good because it provides more services like payment tracking and information on insurance, compared to built for teams. But Built for Teams still has good use from an employee information perspective. That's why my company still uses both services though we could probably just use Justworks.

The system as a whole is very similar in a lot of ways to what we demoed with Paycom and what we used with ADP. I would say that payroll is significantly simpler with Proliant than it was with ADP. Having a designated account manager and point of contact was a main selling point for us with choosing Proliant over our other options and while that has proved to be an asset, we do wish there was a general customer support line for quick questions like we had with ADP.

Return on Investment
  • 100% employee satisfaction with the request. It's very easy to manage any request and approve.
  • Easy to monitor available time-off and PTO's. We cut down 80% of paperwork and wastage of labor hours in calculating what an individual has accrued for their vacation and PTO.
  • The best part is transparency between supervisor and team member on requests for late arrivals, early departures, or missing work by recording it in Built for Teams.

  • The payroll clerk is able to pre-process payruns so that she doesn't need a backup on days she is out of the office
  • Have eliminated an internal need for someone to handle payroll tax and compliance filings
  • EDI feeds with benefits providers have elminated the need to manually update benefits providers with each employee change
