ScreenConnect
Chose ScreenConnect
We used to use remote desktop. The approaches are not comparable. ConnectWise is collaborative, efficient, simple and works. The other is disruptive, clumsy and ineffective.
Chose ScreenConnect
I don't believe ConnectWise is as mature or flexible as the aforementioned services, however the price makes up for it. I have had issues with Mac users however, and that I haven't compared across services.
Chose ScreenConnect
So much easier to use ConnectWise Control - it's "always on" and doesn't require describing to a user how to set up a connection.
Chose ScreenConnect
ScreenConnect is easier to use than any other program I have used. I have not used ScreenConnect meetings. I will try that out now.
Chose ScreenConnect
I still like the ease of use of LogMeInRescue especially for the downloading and installing of the support client.
Chose ScreenConnect
We originally started using ConnectWise Control to save money over using LogMeIn Central which was getting expensive. Although LogMeIn Central does have an ad-hoc option for connecting to a remote user in the moment, it's much more cumbersome to use as well as to walk the …
Chose ScreenConnect
Screenconnect offers a ridiculously awesome cost saving in comparison to the mainstream remote control and presentation [tools] out there like LogMeIn or WebEx.
Highfive (discontinued)
Chose Highfive (discontinued)
UberConference offering the conference line and screensharing functions for free was the reason we chose it originally. We looked at ClearSlide, Zoom and Webex, and at the time we looked at them they all required a fee and they had a lot more bells and whistles than …
Chose Highfive (discontinued)
Zoom is great for one on one communication and screen sharing, so we often use it for those purposes instead of UberConference. However we always choose UberConference over Google Hangouts, since we've had issues in the past with poor audio and video quality. UberConference …
Chose Highfive (discontinued)
UberConference carries much less administrative overhead than WebEx or GoToMeeting. UberConference's interface is superior to free conference call because you can see who is on the call, mute individuals, and get a tracking report of who spent how much time speaking at the end …
Chose Highfive (discontinued)
UberConference has its place. Skype integrates with Outlook and Microsoft Office 365, but if you don't use those services UberConference is a great stand alone service. WebEx is very costly and is difficult to deal with.
Webex Meetings
Chose Webex Meetings
WebEx has a fair pricing model, ease of use, low learning curve and aside from a few bumps on cross platforms, connectivity works well.
Chose Webex Meetings
We actually use a variety of the offerings. We have a few Join.me accounts because sometimes that is easier for calling/screen sharing meetings. We opted against UberConference because although it was the most cost-effective, we found calls were being dropped regularly. For …
Chose Webex Meetings
Webex is by far the best in my opinion, though cost is a factor.

ConnectWise
We often need to create an ad-hoc session with a device that is not under our management. We find ourselves doing this more than ever in the COVID world. Many people are working from home on personal machines with their employer, our client's permission and we are facilitating more support for these personal machines. Connectwise Control [(formerly ScreenConnect)] gives us a robust resource to control the device, navigate anywhere we need, execute various commands, and engage in an on-screen chat with the client. The session is very simple to create and very user-friendly to initiate. We do not recommend it for Android, Apple, or Chromebook applications. There is little to no support for these platforms.

The free version I would absolutely recommend, we've had some great use out of it for the past few years. Presenting, sharing screen, the conference line and some other features are all free. If we did need more analytics and more features, perhaps making it easier for the potential customer to share screen, we might re-start the search and we'd potentially rate UberConference lower, but for the free version it's been great for us.

The first reason is the ease of use and availability, which makes WebEx work for all. The quality of audio and video is adorable. As a business development associate, I must make an impression on the other side, and WebEx helps me make first impressions. A few features are complex for new users but can be resolved.

Pros
ConnectWise
  • The interface is easy to use and makes sense. It's easy to understand how to organize a large number of machines involving multiple clients. But, it's also applicable for smaller set of machines too.
  • The connection speed is very quick. I've used solutions in the past that take a variable amount of time to connect, or they just take a long time every time. Control is quick every time. It doesn't get in the way of being able to support the machines on the other end.
  • The connections are reliable. I haven't experienced random disconnects throughout hundreds of instances. It was a breath of fresh air coming from the previous solution we used. I consider Control a gold standard for what a great remote connection solution can be.

  • I appreciate being able to select a local phone number: it adds credibility and convenience for in-market clients/prospects.
  • I like being able to customize the hold music. One of our employees wrote and produced custom hold music for Anvil, which generates discussion and engagement as an ice-breaker.
  • The screen sharing is easy-to-use and is far more reliable than in the past. Prospects and clients do not have to download any app to make it work properly.

  • Anywhere at anytime virtual meetings and conferences.
  • Secure collaboration end-to-end.
  • Webex Assistant, I like this feature every much.
  • Customizable layouts as needs arise.
  • Great User Interface (UI).
  • Historical capture of meetings.
  • The shape and gesture recognition features using AI.
  • Note-taking.
  • Close Captioning in various languages.

Cons
ConnectWise
  • I'd like to see the ability to selectively log off the remote machine via a button on the toolbar. Currently it's a setting to always lock on disconnect, or never lock on disconnect, requiring the tech to manually lock the machine if called for at the end of a session. Its a small time save that would add up!
  • The chat feature could be expanded to be a lot more useful. Allowing clients to start conversations, and have conversations ping an email address if no one is monitoring the dashboard would be extremely valuable.
  • Some clarity on licensing when providing host-passes to guest technicians would be a boon, especially for one-off support sessions with vendors.

  • Can be very laggy - I have been part of screen share conferences where the connection keeps dropping.
  • Call quality is not always the best.
  • Limited functionality - this cannot be your all-in-one go-to conferencing solution because there are no video call capabilities.

  • Only a few options are there for non-verbal feedback like hand raising or emoji reactions. They should work on it as expressing understanding or agreement would help collaborate with the cross-functional teams.
  • More options for creating custom workflows and integrations with internal tools would be helpful and the whiteboard also looks basic compared to other similar tools. I think, adding features like sticky notes and freehand drawing would be a great boost.
  • The mobile app is functional but I find it less intuitive and feature-rich compared to the desktop version. Should have parity in features and a more user-friendly interface will become more helpful for mobile users like me who sometimes conduct or attend meetings on the go.

I would recommend this product for both internal remote control of end user workstations and remote access to other clients over the internet. It provides a secure and feature rich product that allows me to complete any necessary tasks without ever leaving the office. I will continue to renew as I'm eager to see what they do next. I would however wish the cloud service had a better API to work in conjunction with team collaboration or chat services to make it easier to connect with end users who use multiple workstations. (Slack or Stride provide this functionality)

UberConference is more expensive than some of its competitors and we have not found a real advantage to using UberConference over certain less-expensive applications. UberConference charges per month per organizer and those costs add up quickly, so we will be moving forward with a more budget-friendly option in the coming months.

Usability
ConnectWise
On the whole SC is a very powerful tool that is a vital part of the IT service arsenal. On-site visits are an "emergency" only type of scenario. Just "showing your face" is not winning any browny points for me. If my client sees my face, it's usually just to upgrade hardware or to deal other aspects of business. SC provides me and my client the bulk of the info I need to get projects done.

The interface is intuitive and stupidly simple, no complicated sub-menus or configuration settings. Easy to create a meeting space and then have others join with a link or dial-in PIN on the free tier. On the paid tier it's even easier with PIN-less joining and automatic reminder calls to get participants to join.

Webex Meetings does not provide enough audio feedback for users with visual disabilities to properly navigate the tool. Students, faculty, and staff who are blind or have low vision may not be able to use Webex Meetings. Users with motor disabilities that navigate via keyboard, may not be able to navigate the web conferencing session enough to participate fully.

So personally I have never faced any kind of meeting unavailability issue while scandaling meeting with WebEx the bandwidth is really good and in terms of application performance the same is my opinion what I mentioned for availability it is good and the objective of communication is quite fruitfully achieved with a simple and effective product like WebEx which is often bundled with the purchase of course which is which we have at our company and great discount is being offered so it is easy on our pocket. I really don't have any specific errors which have faced I should mention over here the operation or application uses is quite smooth.

It performs well. It also has full control over windows security and does not get hung up like GoToMeeting when trying to install remote software at the prompt to install as admin / override. I have used TeamViewer, WebEx, LogMeIn and GoToMeeting. This is by far the best at spontaneous, remote control. It is also very easy to get a novice user connected to the session.

Support Rating
ConnectWise
There have been two times when something has went wrong and I needed immediate assistance in order to be able to use Screenconnect to be able to help clients and response has not been immediate. The response time has been within 24 hours. Both times if there had been easier to navigate self help I would have been able to help myself. With better self help and a speedier response it would definitely be a 10 as they always respond and help. Just a little more difficult or slow than it should be at times

It was straight to the point and very informative. effective training often includes clear explanations, hands-on practice opportunities, time for questions and answers, real-world examples, and follow-up support. If you're trying to assess the quality of a specific training session, you might consider these factors. For organizations looking to assess the quality of their in-person training, it's best to solicit feedback directly from the participants. This can be done through anonymous surveys or feedback sessions, enabling the organization to gather firsthand information and improve future training sessions accordingly.

That we needed complex implementation that we didn't get tells me 2 things: 1) the product was not designed in a way that "just worked" like some of its peers (Zoom / BlueJeans) and 2) had our company defined actual user needs and validated / verified that they had bought something that matched those, we would have pursued features / designs more closely aligned with what the product actually does: screen share, sometimes video, definitely VOIP audio (always an option regardless of license), and easy recording and retrieval of meetings.

Uberconference is by far more reliable and has a better quality of service than the other providers in this space. I have never had a dropped call with Uberconference (unlike Skype and Hangouts). I do think they need to do more marketing because fewer people know about them than others and sometimes people decline to use the service so we have to use one of the other platforms to connect.
