It is well suited in org where password protection is mandatory. Most companies need it hence as the service you're providing needs to have a secure vault and this is where dashlane comes in picture. Also great as a authenticator app. Even has VPN for those that need. It is less suited for personal projects.
IBM Security Verify is best used in scenarios with multiple well known systems that have existing connectors. Managing users across multiple systems with a complex ruleset works like a charm once the rules are set up correctly - which will take some time and learning. It is usable as well with a lot of custom systems where you have to cobble together a connector yourself.
Dashlane does a great job of detecting the password creation process on new websites and prompting users to store the data on the app. This saves a lot of time and eliminates the need to remember to save passwords manually.
Dashlane syncs well across devices. That password you created using your laptop is immediately available on your smartphone app without the need for double entry.
The Dashlane application provides a variety of data save types beyond just passwords. You are able to save account information, payment methods, and personal data in a categorized way.
Admin capabilities - Admins cannot reset passwords or 2SV tokens for any users, so they are left to contact Dashlane support. Without adequate management, Dashlane is tough to support internally effectively.
Reporting - Dashlane does not provide reports for when users export passwords, fail logins or do anything else to potentially compromise their accounts. The reporting right now simply shows when users are created and added/removed from sharing Groups, but even then, the reporting is broken.
Chrome - Chromebook users cannot take advantage of Dashlane to any real degree. They cannot set up 2SV tokens or keys, nor are they given the same features (Security Dashboard, Sharing Centre, etc.) so the experience is hampered, which adversely affects adoption.
We don't use other solutions, but we do find the mobile version for Android better than iOS. On Android, 2FA codes appear as word suggestions, making it very much like the experience on the web browser. On iOS, we need to change apps every single time a 2FA code is needed just to get the 6-digit code to fill a form.
IBM Security Verify is a must product every company with great vision should have. It has powerful security stabilization mechanism for data protection. It keeps the company and customers under one unified monitoring system that enables organization to strike better deals. It saves time for entering passwords every time to access prioritized information from regular customers.
It is almost always available. they do updates at night, minimizing the effect of upgrades. It is always around, it is just old and maybe needs to start from scratch to get a better product for nowadays. It is almost always available during business hours when you need it. for 24/7 companies it may be more difficult to time the upgrades so that it does not affect your work.
We've had no issues with Dashlane. I can't speak to their customer service because I have not personally needed to contact them. I guess that speaks about their product if we've not had any issues to reach out about. Great for supporting data/information on multiple platforms that are shared among team members.
So far, we have always been able to count on IBM's support and we have also used it for many extensions and customizations. The support always worked in a solution-oriented manner, was usually available at very short notice and always took our concerns seriously. The billing was always fair despite the high hourly rates. The scaling of the support was excellent, as it was always possible to hand over any part of the work to IBM.
Dashlane loses against 1Password in almost every way. The only aspect that is better for Dashlane is the ability to share with your organization as it will pre-populate a list of users.
I didn't select Dashlane, it was selected for me. If it was up to me, I would choose 1Password over Dashlane all the time.
We evaluated Oracle Identity Manager and were ready to move ahead with the purchase plan, but then found that IBM addressed the needs of our company in a more robust fashion. The price was significantly higher, yet in the grand scheme of things, the safety of both our data and the data of our clients was the most important criteria.
The licensing terms were favourable due to their flexibility based on the size and purpose of implementation. The billing frequency is done on quarterly basis. The vendor team has enacted best user policies that gives the company the full control of this platform. It is cost-effective as compared to most security verification tools in the market.
In the case of adjustments, we were often able to carry them out completely on our own and only used professional services for new requirements. Particularly in the case of access management, it is very positive that we usually needed IBM for a task in less than an hour and then developed the solution further on our own.
