I would recommend HubSpot's suite of tools to SMBs looking to centralize sales, marketing and other mission-critical business processes. I have no basis to rule it out for higher-volume Enterprise applications, but haven't worked with it at that level. There has been far more positives than negatives in regards to its usefulness to our company.

Marketo is really robust and can help produce amazing campaign tracking. Marketo does a great job at tracking a leads creation, stamping lead source, scoring that lead, and pushing to the designated lifecycle/funnel stage. It allows for sales to spend less time cold calling and more time calling actionable hot leads.

Pros
HubSpot Marketing Hub
- Social media scheduling. A comprehensive and easy to use social calendar allows you to easily schedule posts and get an over arching view of social activities for the month and beyond.
- Email marketing. The templates provided allow me to easily create, beautiful professional emails.
- Landing pages and forms. I can easily track submissions with the forms and the templates provided for a landing page ease a major pain point.

- Automation is top notch with its smart campaign execution not only within Marketo, but triggering external communications.
- Connectivity of data and automation within CRM is top notch
- Email marketing templates are simple, straightforward and easy to manipulate through modules.
- Reporting and subscriptions make sharing data with outside users very simple

Cons
HubSpot Marketing Hub
- It is less about HubSpot as a platform and more about the app, but I wish they were able to bring a bit more functionality to the app such as being able to schedule posts. It would make trade shows much easier.
- I wish the template designs were easier to make changes to because without CSS knowledge they can be complex to adjust. Many other sites have more user-friendly designs and this one is very rigid and sometimes hard to adjust.
- While I love HubSpot Academy, I wish it listed out your current courses versus having to search for them. It would help remind me which ones I need to finish.

- Reporting - Although Marketo reports can answer surface questions and some canned concepts, drilling down and customizing reports is still problematic and is best served through big data and BI visualization.
- Maintenance - The system is not very forgiving for non-technical users working at scale and often requires intervention as performance degrades over time.

Our business relies on the HubSpot platform to manage our marketing, sales and CRM processes. HubSpot marketing automation helps us define our activities and streamlines them in a cohesive and efficient way. Without HubSpot, we will have to revert to the 'old way' of doing everything with a variety of disparate systems.

We're likely to renew for several reasons:
- Now that it's been implemented, I can't imagine not having marketing automation and the easy interface that Marketo provides to run our campaigns
- Marketo's community and customer service is fantastic; I know that when I need help, I'll get it
- Marketo continues to improve the product, so I know that I can expect it to be even more useful in the future

Hubspot shows you what do and makes it easy to find the help articles you need. Over all it shows the system status well. The only issue is when there are syncing issues so you'll have to save often and make sure to refresh so you know your changes synced with the server.

There's a fair amount of flexibility, but as you start moving beyond the basics and get into more complex programs, it gets a bit cumbersome; for example, flexible drip campaigns that can customize / change content based on triggers after the initial start. Some way of normalizing scoring so older, less intensive users don't overshadow newer, more-intense users. Etc.For a basic setup and taking control of the user flow from contact to lead without leaks, Marketo is awesome, once you've got the core data governance and standardized processes in place.Template design is difficult - designers find it restrictive and there is a LOT of debugging needed, with finished templates sometimes behaving very oddly in some environments - adding / deleting code snippets, disabling some scripts - not enough to break it, but definitely some odd behaviors

They have had issues with system availability over the course of days. Sometimes the system is unusable, other times updates simply take a long time to show up. It's better now but, from a reliaibility standpoint, HubSpot is not Salesforce.com yet. Still great software though.

Marketo provides different way and abilities to connect. If you are having product support or unexplained errors you can get someone on Marketo support 24 hours a day. One of Marketo's greatest assets in my opinion however would be the community. Often times our company is just looking for case success stories from someone else. In the community you can search for problems you are currently facing and see others having the same issue and solutions for those issues. If not, you can pose a question to the whole community and champions of the product and others can chime in to provide suggestions to fix your needs. The community is truly a 24/7 place to get your answers quickly.

With all the new features in HubSpot, the system can get a tad slow sometimes... That said, most of the time it is lightning fast and I have no problems. Because most of the integrations are API, they silently work in the background. I have not had trouble with lag due to HubSpot integration

I had a pretty serious programming issue in my onboarding period. I called and got to someone within 10 minutes. Their hold music was not elevator music, it was Andy Grammer's latest hits which made it seem like less time. They took note of the issue, tried what they knew, and then said they would work on the issue and be in touch soon. The issue was resolved within a day! And they were so pleasant to work with

On multiple occasions we've had Marketo support (technical and license based) issues. Technical issues were minor and resolved within a day. License based issues (even things encouraged by Marketo for partners, like provisioning another license) took WEEKS. They actually took so long to respond that the client we were working with withdrew from the contract because they were no longer convinced Marketo was capable of supporting their business. As an agency trying to sell the software, you can only explain away so much before they just made us look silly.

I went through Inbound Marketing University in 2006. Great training and helped my transition from traditional (outbound) marketing to inbound marketing that I've been able to apply to a number of businesses from wastewater and water reuse, to professional services and SaaS. Share information of value to build awareness and trust. Answer customers' questions in a transparent way to generate more qualified leads. Understand the difference between a marketing qualified lead and a sales qualified lead and put together a lead nurturing program. Your sales and marketing efforts will see significant ROI.

My biggest piece of advice for those who are implementing Hubspot is that you need to devote the time up front and learn how to use the product. Once you learn how to use Hubspot, it will be much more effective as well as much easier to use in the long run

1. Have a content marketing plan to run in parallel with the marketing automation installation--you'll need a lot of content to make full use of Marketo's capabilities.2. Work with sales (and ISRs) to define and document a workflow--build your Marketo installation around how you do business--not figure out how to apply your business to the tools3. Spend time of data cleaning--both an initial project as well as a strategy for ongoing data management. We found some change manaement issues (no more appending ZZZ to the first name to identify contacts who have left the company, for example, or prohibiting the entry of "info@company.com" email addresses).4. Find some champions in the sales and ISR teams. You'll have both fans and detractors--work with the fans to build some success stories

Salesforce and NetSuite are both great software however I believe HubSpot stacks up against them quite well. HubSpot has all of the same features when it comes to Sales Reporting, Dashboards, Follow up tasks, Note Taking, etc as the others. I would say Salesforce is more integrated, it has a lot of other features that can be used outside of sales. HubSpot can be used outside of sales as well such as marketing and customer service but not like Salesforce. NetSuite is great as well but HubSpot has been easier to navigate, train on, and use.

We reviewed Microsoft's offering and Salesforce, but neither at the time were offering much more and for less than Marketo at the time. Marketo has been in use at our organization for more than 5 years now and every year we seem to use more and more features making it of greater value to us. With us being able to mature along with the software I think it would be hard to switch to another platform

HubSpot is addressing this more and more. Currently you can assign tasks to designated sales teams, which grow as you grow. They've added free baseline products for those just getting started. These and more contribute to the scalability of HubSpot - so I gave it an 8 and am hoping for more in the future!

We look at scaleability in a few different ways. First, the speed while using Marketo has remained relatively the same as our database has grown. Though I would say Marketo is slow at times, it has not gotten slower over the last few years. If anything, it has improved, and they are working to improve it. Second, the amount of programs we have developed in Marketo has exponentially grown as well. Marketo has allowed us to drastically increase our output without having to drastically increase our headcount.
