Sennheiser ADAPT series vs. Zimbra Email & Collaboration

Perfect for use in a noisy environment (i.e. an internet cafe/outside whilst walking) as the Active noise cancellation blocks out the noise from around you, allowing you to HEAR and crucially for far end to hear you. The base sound in the headset is particularly good for music with better capability than some more expensive dedicated music headsets (like BOSE). Battery life is exceptional and if you do end up running out, you can plug in the USB cable to your laptop and charge whilst using the headset which is super useful. Where you have BACK TO BACK meetings, long periods of use will mean you do get hot so this must be taken into consideration

Zimbra is great for an email system for a medium or large organization with appropriate IT staffing. The system is easy to use for end-users, and has a fantastic web interface. Unfortunately, it is overly complex, when considering staffing requirements and price, when compared with Office 365 or Google Apps for smaller organizations. For other education customers, it is hard to compete with Microsoft and Google providing their services for "Free" now though

• As these are over the ear/enclosed, they are very effective, but long periods of use can end up meaning you can get sweaty/uncomfortable. Difficult to improve on this situation other than to switch between using these and an external Epos desk speaker.

• The password change is not activated when you access by IMAP, Pop3 or Exchange sync. You have to know that the password change is required and you must go to the website to do so.
• The management of mail rules should have more checking options.
• There should be more applications compatible with Zimbra, the ones that appear in the Zimlets.

Overall, we were satisfied with the implementation. We perhaps should have spent more time consulting with Zimbra or others regarding best practices but as we got to know the system better we were able to make changes relatively easily after the fact.

Jabra is one of our other main headset suppliers, and their Evolve and Speak range are regularly used within our organisation. Sennheiser ADAPT series comes down to personal choice from users, much like how there are iOS and Android users, but the Sennheiser ADAPT range (particularly in the case of the MB660) is one of the premium headsets that users have expressed an interest in for its overall capabilities.

We selected Zimbra because it has a lower cost in the market, offers more development features for its open source, has a very easy to use interface and adjusts to the needs of the company.

• For production/broadcast users, this compares favourably with dedicated music headsets but is more reasonably priced.
• For staff on regular VC/AUDIO calls, this has been seen as a very capable premium headset that pays for itself in terms of build quality/audio quality and battery life.

• Since all of our ROI studies and strategies are performed at the corporate level, I'm really not sure what positive or negative impacts Zimbra has had on our overall business objectives. I can say that at least one positive impact it has on my business objectives, in the medical record department, is the ability to be as paperless as possible.
