We were able to get setup and going relatively easily. It has allowed us to create DNS records other providers simply did not provide.

The simple editor is good for a user who doesn't really have a lot of experience managing DNS. It does what it needs to do. The expert editor provides more advanced functionality. Dyn also makes it possible to download one's domain records in a BIND compatible text editor, with Unix and Windows for new lines.

With the exception of the inability to do bulk record changes across multiple domains that are inside of your account, the overall usability of the managed DNS offering that Dyn provides is excellent. The interface is simple, not cluttered, very responsive, even if your domain has 1000 records, and there are no gimmicky menus, styles, or anything. It's about as close to editing the BIND DNS record file as you can get on the web.

Oracle Dyn Managed DNS is very easy to use, has a great interface and no extra styling or scripting that makes the interface unusable like in most other interfaces I've seen. For some users, I would add tipping points of some sort (or maybe there are and I haven't seen them yet).

Domains are right there and you don't need to look for them in multiple other interfaces. All of the other domain sites are clunky. You have too many menu options and features before you get to the domain. With Oracle Dyn Managed DNS, you see them all right away in a simple list. No need to jump through hoops to get to domain and DNS settings. When you need to make quick changes that affect all of your customers because a server goes down, every second matters.

I give Oracle Dyn Managed DNS's overall usability an 8/10. If you understand DNS then you should have no problem working with the Dyn DNS interface. It takes very little time to learn how to update and manage DNS for your domains. The DYN API is also easy to work with and they provide SDK's for most programming languages.

The service portal is easy to use if you understand DNS and the different types of data and records it uses. The customer portal that links the accounts and services is also nice and clear and easy to use. Its quick and simple to add additional users or services to the account.

I have never had a problem with it. I haven't compared it to other DNS options other than what is built into Windows Server.

As this is the DNS service I have used for most of my career, I can not really compare it to other options. I will however say that the user interface could be improved. The ease of locating a specific node quickly and making small changes could be better. I don't want to have to click through three or four menus to locate a node because the ISP changed their IP address. I'd like to be able to enter a portion of the node id into the search on the home page and get directly to that node.
