Because Tableau is an Intelligence tool that allows me to analyze, visualize and share large volumes of information in a fast, flexible and friendly way. Complement is very easy to use, generates tangible impacts in the short term. The Organization has been able to create innovative projects in the company, by saving a lot of time in the handling of information and making objective and faster decision

1. As compared to SAP Business Objects, Tableau is very easy to use and quick in terms of implementation. Although SAP BO is reporting tool but both tool servers different purposes. SAP BO is a huge enterprises tool used mainly for creating large tabular reports while Tableau Desktop is a dash boarding tool used for visual representation of data.

2. When comparing QlikView with Tableau both are kind of similar tools, because the purpose of both tools are visual representation of data using dashboards. Although both tools are different at several points like QlikView has very good ETL and features compared to Tableau, while Tableau is very user-friendly and offers drag and drop features which makes it very easy for business users as well.

  • I have tried and read about another product like Power Bi Desktop and it is similar to Tableau Desktop but with the advantage that the latter is free.
the option is that Tableau Public has the features of Tableau Desktop available for free, at least for a trial period.

I think Tableau is easier to read and understand. The data gets refreshed a few times a week so it's more current. I don't remember BloomReach being able to break down an item number into all of the SKUs attached to it so I wasn't able to see which color or design was selling the best.

Tableau is next generation tool where other two are old traditional BI tools
Other tools are very slow and difficult to use, and required lot of technical expertise to use them.
Tableau's look and feel is much nicer than those two.
Sharing and collaboration are easy with Tableau.
Installation is easy.

  • Power BI
Performance: Power BI does not stack up against Tableau if there are huge amounts of data needs to report or dashboarding. The visualization interface of Tableau is much more user-friendly than its competitors. Therefore, we are using the Tableau for our reporting, dashboarding, and many pattern recognitions. It is a great tool.

In tableau you can achieve things really quickly and it has the power to show you insight data very easily. Tableau is also economical in comparison to what these tools cost. It's a full value tool.

Against the usual incumbents within the pharmaceutical industry, Tableau has much better and faster access to database data especially stored in the Oracle database, without needing any interim transformations or data universe needing to be created. Also it has comparatively good access to other data sources such as spreadsheets, which can be problematic for other analytic tools.

At this moment, while both products have active communities and champions, Power BI has shorter release times and is actively trying to overtake Tableau's spot as the leading data visualization tool. For a company which has already started to deploy Tableau Online or Desktop, the obvious choice is to keep building with Tableau's tools as long as they suit your needs. It seamlessly integrates with a MS BI environment and a good number of other platforms, and publication to Tableau Server is easy.

The reason I selected Tableau desktop was because it is so easy to use. You can easily download it, there are a large number of tutorials provided by Tableau that you can use to familiarise yourself with the tool. The learning curve for Tableau is less. I personally had a project due in morning and I was able to learn to use it in a span of 2 hours maximum. It has a variety of data visualisation techniques that make it very easy to represent large data and communicate its meaning.

Tableau is a very, very powerful analytics tool that is very flexible with that said there are always some programs that will do specific tasks much better, I would highly suggest Tableau as I use it for marketing analysis, sales reporting and even for analysis on e-commerce and digital marketing purposes.

We were interested in expedience at reasonable cost and so didn't do any sort of bakeoff, but tried Tableau first as a potential solution for moving beyond Excel for large scale data analytics. We picked it because it more than met our functional needs at a very reasonable price point. If I were looking again today I would compare Tableau to Qlikview, Birst, and a few other players. But I'm satisfied with the choice we made and results we've gotten from Tableau.

Tableau was already widely utilised at the point which I joined the organisation. Depending on how you have your site set up for tracking, Data Studio 360 (GA) is looking like a more effective solution for up to the minute results, and the beta interface has a similar look and feel.
