Overall Satisfaction with 8x8 X Series (Formerly Virtual Office)

We are a small company of 100+ employees. We have four branch locations including our main office in Sacramento. We use 8x8 X Series (Formerly Virtual Office) as our main telecommunication provider for all employees in the company.
  • Easy-to-manage administration
  • User friendly for all levels of expertise
  • Provides a great way of maintaining redundancy in telecommunication services
  • All levels of technical support, especially tier 1--it's terrible
  • Product reliability, the system works 50% of the time
  • Customization availability for administrators
  • User permissions are non-existent
  • Switchboard lacks very many basic core functions
  • Desk phone synchronization with 8x8 X Series (Formerly Virtual Office) is non-existent.
  • Communication between support and customer is terrible. The customer is left in the dark until issue is resolved.
  • Because the system performance is very unreliable, our customers are very frustrated.
  • Employees are not happy with the product due to the constant performance issues.
  • Too much time is spent troubleshooting issues that should not exist in the first place.
Mitel MiCollab was very complex and required a lot of training. However it was always reliable, we never had issues with call quality, dead air, or call disconnects. The technical support was very knowledgeable and was not outsourced to another country.

Do you think 8x8 Work delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with 8x8 Work's feature set?

No

Did 8x8 Work live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of 8x8 Work go as expected?

No

Would you buy 8x8 Work again?

No

The initiative to build a system with modern features is welcoming, however its is very disappointing to see the that the basic core functions of the system are left in the 1980s. Focus on building a strong reliable backbone first--starting with the back-end synchronizations of user accounts and their devices. This area is lacking and is very frustrating to the end users.
