Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat

I use Acrobat to produce reports, professional announcements and advertisements, etc. We use the product on a weekly or monthly basis for generation of documents, electronic signatures, and producing high quality deliverables for a range of government and academic clients. We have found that this product is beneficial beyond the basic Adobe Acrobat Reader because the ease of use allows rapid development of documents without having to go through our organization's editors, which saves time and money for our project and clients.

The product features are the biggest factor from the above list. Producing documents with Acrobat has been necessary for several client interactions in order to produce high-quality documents beyond what was possible using lower-tier programs or free, less secure alternatives. The collaboration features make it easy for teams to work on documents based on their availability and personal circumstances, which aligns well with our organization's commitment to providing a diverse and inclusive work environment. The resulting documents are very high quality, even on minimal specialized training.

The security and compliance standards have allowed us to integrate electronic signatures into our operations, which provides high levels of security for our digital products that are produced under GXP regulations. In addition to being very secure, it has increased efficiency by allowing managers to sign when not physically present, such as during the pandemic. As an organization that relies heavily on surveys and handles PII, these security functions are business critical to ensuring we meet our regulatory commitments and protect the participants in our studies.
Although I have personally worked with some other PDF editor applications throughout the years, the ease of use and versatility of Acrobat combined with Adobe's reputation and history in this sector made them the natural choice for my research group's activities. The features of the program also align well with the services and requirements on projects with our federal clients.

The acrobat tool has a wide range of capabilities to produce high-quality professional PDF documents without extensive training. Compared to other applications like Reader (which only allows reading of PDF's) and CutePDF (which only prints documents as PDF's), Acrobat allows you to combine, rearrange, edit, etc. to produce documents to suit a range of applications. Although it is easy to use for basic functions, some features are better suited to power-users and somewhat clunky, so novices may encounter issues. For instance, a separate addon is required for encrypted electronic signatures in documents.
