Use Cases and Deployment Scope

While we do use Anaplan internally, I also implement Anaplan. Internally, Anaplan is our go-to financial planning and reporting model, and we use it every day for those purposes. On the implementation side, I've done so at varied organizations and in a variety of use cases. Anaplan brings siloed teams together by providing a shared platform for everyone. Additionally, it helps organizations drive consistency in their business processes and helps uncover efficiencies in its collaborative implementation approach. I've implemented it across a variety of industries, including airline services, utilities, high tech, and logistics, and across numerous use cases like FP&A and SPM.

Anaplan is well-suited for scenarios where businesses are planning mostly via excel spreadsheets that are widely shared, then collected, then input into some planning/budgeting tool. On the SPM side, it is well suited for incentive comp calculations and territory-level planning. It works well in growing flexible businesses and can scale with them. It is not so well suited for massive amounts of data with many varied reporting needs--it works better as a planning tool.
