Overall Satisfaction with ApptioOne

ApptioOne was brought in to help us gain visibility into our true technology spending. Everyone understood the initial budget (on paper) and individuals understood their specific spend throughout the year, but we were lacking the ability to connect all of the data points in a cohesive manner and report out on that data. We were unable to determine if our spend was truly in line with our proposed budget, and we were also concerned with cost-overruns that were occuring with regularity. ApptioOne brought our data together in a way that allowed us insight and changed the way we make decisions during our budget year.
  • Reports are incredibly easy for users to access and interact with
  • Budgeting and reporting are faster and more streamlined
  • Seperating tech spending into categories, such as service, is incredibly helpful
  • Reporting can be somewhat limited in configuration options
  • BI tools have more options and configurability and ApptioOne could use those as examples
  • Reports are consumed on-demand but there is little ability to schedule reports and notify users
My organization utilizes ApptioOne MX mainly for its peer comparison features, allowing us to see where our spend is compared to others in our field, market, and geography. We also leverage modeling to help us analyze and determine whether or not our expected return results are accurate and will yield the outcomes we are planning for.

Apptio support has always been top-notch and their focus on their product and its usability is truly second-to-none. Like most post-sales groups, they have incredible expertise in their product, but the more impressive part has been their commitment to our usage and needs for their tool. Ultimately, the support being provided is a huge reason why organizations like mine stick with a vendor.

We are not using any other Apptio products. Unfortunately, the survey requires me to submit a response and I am unable to "skip" the question as instructed. I am simply putting in 50 words to be able to get past the required response for this particular topic.
ApptioOne has far exceeded our expectations when compared to the research we did into other products and tools. The offerings were different in many ways, but Apptio was the only one who successfully put together a suite of tools that satisfied all of our particular needs. We found the other products to be strong in particular areas, versus Apptio satisfying numerous areas of strength.

We have found Apptio to be incredibly well suited to our budget and spend practices, and it has proven to be invaluable when it comes to delivering visibility to the true cost of technology within our organization. The reporting, for users who access Apptio regularly, is powerful enough to provide value right "out of the box", and while there is room for improvement with regard to features, the tool meets the needs immediately... which is not something I can say about many other solutions we have implemented over the years. The only area I have found Apptio lacking, and in that barely so, has been notifications and email distribution to users who don't access the reports and dashboards on-demand.
