Overall Satisfaction with Arena

Used as a PLM collaborative tool to bring Engineers, Suppliers, Contract Manufacturers together to access the same data simultaneously. Also helps to maintain the right access/privileges for each group of users. It controls part drawings, facilitates the approval process and Change Management. There are minor tweaks that are needed/critical to some processes (these are pretty minor) but this cloud-based solution comes heavily loaded with features and functionalities in stock. Arena also keeps releasing quarterly updates which have solved many issues. At this point, it's a pretty robust platform well suited for medical device companies.
Arena support is great too, they have a fast feedback system and most issues get resolved in a short time.
  • Out of box/ready to use PLM platform with fully loaded functionalities that can be custom tailored to some extent.
  • Free Supplier Accounts and as many as you want (this might be helping them in gaining popularity but its a win-win for both).
  • The software validation process they have made is pretty cool and saves a lot of time when validating against user requirements.
  • The API can be made more accessible so other data tools can take advantage of the API.
  • Can be more customizable on attributes for items and changes.
  • It's slower than a local server based PLM solution.
  • Arena has surely helped in collaborating and change control on designs, the biggest impact is reducing confusion and saving time for employees.
  • Expedited the supplier/Contact Manufacturer/Engineers product development process at different stages in the product lifecycle.
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
Cost and ready to use solution.
Arena was easy to implement and we had it running in a very short period of time. Arena supports a lot in implementing their solution. The team was quite satisfied with the ease of implementation.
Agile, Propel are the product I have used before.
Arena is kind of slow to use when searching or loading contents but the ease of implementation and maintenance is why we selected Arena.
It is best suited for a medical device company and other product based industries. Scenarios where vendors/supplier/contract manufacturers need a collaborative space to work and changes on components are critical.
For bigger companies, this is not suited for maintaining many different product configurations as it is not easy.
The supplier access is a tricky thing and it gets more tricky when there is multi-level access needed by different suppliers who don't need to see each other.
