Overall Satisfaction with Arena PLM and QMS

PD and Ops teams use Arena to manage BOMs and communicate sourcing/costing of multi-tier supplier items. We use it for version control and approval routings for quality tracking. We also input part qualification requests, actions, and results to implement into change orders for full tracking of why changes are made to products. Our CMs can update implementation data and view the official part spec direct from the source.
  • Change request information and final implementation tracking
  • All supplier items in one place
  • Part history tracking
  • Version control
  • Changing older part custom specs once released
  • Multi-level BOM cost rollups (1-2 layers possible, but not more than that)
  • Noting parts that are explicitly disallowed (we don't want to leave them as potential, but it would be nice to track that they were deleted from potential options)
  • Loading list tracking of specific build sourcing configurations
  • Ability to make ROI calculations based on sourcing cost adjustments
  • Quality version control
  • Clear CM communication to avoid mistakes in development
I did not make this decision
I never had to deal with this
I used Incline at a previous company and either information was highly segmented or it didn't exist in one place. I could have made better decisions with a more holistic view.
Arena works well for communication across multiple organizations and CMs. It would be nice to offload more of our spreadsheet tracking into it.
