Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilized Ascentis across the organization. We utilize the following modules: HR, Benefits, Training, Talent Management, Recruiting, and self-service. Using the Ascentis modules has been very beneficial to my organization, we can track our applicants and maintain their personnel files electronically in the system.

Pros and Cons

Recruiting: applicant tracking, applicant screening.
Open enrollment
New hire orientation

Performance management: This may be a user error for our managers, but it is the one area I receive the most complaints.

Return on Investment

Ascentis has enabled us to reduce the man-hours associated with recruiting and on-boarding.
Ascentis has enabled us to have a more successful open enrollment experience. Our open enrollment process has gone from over a month to two (2) weeks.
The self-service function has placed the responsibility of updating personal information on the employees. This is verified annually.

Alternatives Considered

ABRA was cumbersome.

Support Rating

For the most part, the overall support we receive from Ascentis has been awesome. We have dedicated support people that we can contact with any issue we may experience. They are always helpful. If the request is for programming changes, they keep us informed as to the expected date of completion.

Employee Self-service enables the employees to have more control and access to their personal information. They can review their performance evaluation, view the widgets, access their benefit links, and update their personal information (address, emergency contact, etc.).

Open enrollment has really made the process so much easier. The employee can go through the wizard to complete open enrollment, access the required forms (EOI's claim forms), and receive a confirmation page of their selections.
