Overall Satisfaction with Atlassian JIRA

Jira is used across the organization to compliment scrum practices. We use it for planning and tracking sprints, and managing backlogs.
  • Managing sprints is easy
  • A sprint notes report that could be easily formatted and exported would be very useful.
  • A built-in way to roll up Epics to a higher program or strategic level would be useful.
  • Being able to add reports to dashboards should be added. People who are not power users should be able to see information on the dashboard - all in one place. Dashboards are limited in usefulness because you cannot really show project status.

It is used company-wide. There is no compelling reason to change. What we have works for now.
If you are doing agile scrum by the book or close to it, the tool is great. If you aren't, it will require some customization, or some compromise at the very least.

  • Only 1 filter can be used per scrum board and you cannot adjust the view of the plan board
  • Ensuring that the same fields are visible to edit when entering/editing a story is not straightforward. Does it have to be customized in multiple places?
