Pros and Cons

  • Agile software development management and micromanagement with Scrum and Kanban.
  • Agile planning and agile management with Kanban boards and custom boards, for projects and daily work.
  • Agile and old-school bug tracking.
  • Helpful reports on work done, workload, time tracking, Scrum sprints, planned vs. executed, etc.
  • Super friendly setup on the cloud, with just one Gmail account (less than 2 minutes).
  • Powerful on-premise alternative for large companies.
  • You can mergen boards from different workflows!
  • Really free full edition for 10 users.
  • The main issue: on-premise edition for small companies. Currently you can just buy Jira on the cloud for Small companies.
  • A little tricky administration, you have to browse a lot of options to find something.
  • Next-gen workflows are not useful enough for most projects, it's best to use "the software approach" and disable the options you don't need on the screens.

Pros and Cons

  • Jira is particularly good at holding all our goals and tasks, all of them being well described within the software and
  • Jira has integration with a lot of 3rd party tools
  • Navigation between boards and backlogs is seamless, all of them being linked to each other
  • Posting URL's in comments is auto-transformed into text preview of that URL and there is no setting to avoid it.
  • Integration with even more 3rd party tools would be nice

Pros and Cons

  • It integrates with all of its projects, like Bitbucket
  • It has dedicated client apps for iOS, and Mac
  • Ridiculous amount of customization and integrations
  • Features that are "on" by default are overwhelming to users new to Jira
  • Image embedding in tickets via url doesn't work, we always have to upload them
  • Moving lots of cards quickly glitches boards out, you have to do it slowly otherwise when you move a card, it might not actually move

Pros and Cons

  • Jira can diagram in its entirety the structure of all the tasks that have been created within the projects, allowing us to make a workflow where the data of each task and sub-task can be intertwined, so that an informative network is created so that the development of the work shows a higher rate of accuracy, regardless of whether any of these tasks, also called components, are linked to other networks or categories.
  • In Jira, issues are closed when an employee specifies their resolution, in case they need to be kept in progress until a certain time and deadlines are not difficult, and since each issue list can be grouped as a project or task, it is possible to keep the project growing based on purely open issues without limiting progress.
  • Each project can be configured to have a unique key by which all work will be identified when within the project list section. That is, the project is tagged so that accessing the data costs less and takes less time if there are many different projects open within the Jira platform that need to be resolved.
  • The customer service offered by Atlassian is the same for all the platforms in its portfolio, where Jira is just one of them. The customer communication team keeps very well informed about the different integrations we can get working from Jira, and has been able to give enough explanations to keep us working smoothly.
  • In terms of usability, we are facing perhaps the project management service with the most facilities when working in a group, with tools that help everyone to keep properly oriented within the platform, such as the grouping function of boards, which allows dragging and separating them when posting work entries.
  • Jira does not handle the ability to organize extensions within the service well, so each extension added to grow the job can be difficult to locate and identify. The ideal approach to improving this would be to be able to include the information of these extensions in a single place, which maintains stable enough accessibility to know which extensions are still active and which are no longer being worked on.
  • It seems to us that the design of the Jira structure is not wide enough, as we cannot correctly apply code from different back-end languages for the server management of our project. For example, when we set up the project so that client information is sent to the server during lookup operations, the data is often not sent, and we end up wasting time. This happens mostly with all the operations that we carry out through PHP.
  • Boards do not have as extensive board aesthetic customization options as one would think, as it does not even let us add textures and maintain a more attractive design capability, limiting us not only to continue using the same working structures at all times, but also to not being able to improve them.

Pros and Cons

  • [Prioritizing] the tasks and add them to current/ next sprint based on importance and urgency of completing it
  • Documenting everything, including wireframes, scope, comments and updates in just 1 ticket rather than multiple emails/ chats etc
  • Easy tracking of past events, closure, updates and where did the task end up
  • Adding of additional fields (if needed) to track a few metrics is not available
  • Most important things for tickets is to see what was the TAT (Turn around Time) and that doesn't come automatically

Pros and Cons

  • It is easy to know the status of the work situation in the project at all times because all users in the project are informed of every event.
  • Jira has an above-average quality of integration with project services, which allows it to be used in conjunction with many online storage or instant messaging services.
  • Atlassian constantly sends out newsletters about updates that are released for the Jira platform, which keeps us informed at all times about new software enhancements and strategies we can apply using these new dynamics to work better.
  • Jira does not include a manual configuration function for editing workflows using information modeling strategies.
  • The platform tends to be slow when working with external workflows while they load.
  • Jira does not integrate with Analytics tracking platforms extensive enough to be able to review our performance figures during marketing campaigns we do to the project from some other non-Atlassian software.

Pros and Cons

  • Allows quick and efficient way to enter a project, task or issue to be further researched and then tracked until completion.
  • Does a great job of managing and tracking issues, as well as all the important attributes for each project or issue.
  • Has a very good search and reporting mechanism.
  • Makes tracking projects or simple tasks easy. [It has] good customization and the data is informative.
  • Integrates well with other software tools, including but not limited to: FishEye + Crucible, Wiki, and TeamForge.
  • Does not integrate with CM tool, such as SVN, which would be useful for managing software releases.
  • Search features are difficult to use and to import results for reporting. There is some learning curve on these features since it is using programming language.
  • The Kanban board on Jira [has bugs] and often produces error alerts, even though changing a status still works.
  • For certain projects in the software , it is less intuitive to close an item. For instance, sometimes you have to move the item back to TO DO status in order to close it out.

Pros and Cons

  • Customizability is impressive. Being able to establish automations and custom fields of all types helps when we need to build new templates to support different efforts.
  • Integration into third-party apps like Git, Bitbutcket, and Zendesk helps streamline our processes and visibility across teams.
  • Easily customizable dashboards are a huge help when it comes to analyzing the vast amount of data available in Jira Software.
  • Bloated - the app has so [many] features and functionality that it tends to bog down from time to time.
  • Expensive - Jira Software is by far one of the most expensive offerings out there.
  • No dark mode support - it's 2021, we should have [a] dark mode.
  • Nickle and dime features - Need to pay for common functionality like Git integration.
  • Lack of automated alerts around metrics like ticket age, last update, etc.

Pros and Cons

  • Cloud-based, web application
  • Drag-and-drop functionality within Kanban boards
  • Clean, crisp design that is pleasing to the eye
  • Does not work well for a traditional IS helpdesk application
  • Very difficult, if not impossible, to provision separate security for departments within the same organization
  • Jira's terminology takes a long time to get used to and for end users to learn (and many never do, seemingly)

Pros and Cons

  • It is being used for Bug, Story and Task tracking, whereas it also enabled the team for recording or even finding or tracking bugs.
  • These are also being used as a product/project management tool and in turn allow the user when it comes to assignment of the tasks which would require attention.
  • It also provides a flexibility of having a kanban board which gives the user with a better vis[i]bility of what has been done, what is in progress and what is still remaining.
  • This software is also being used as a scrum software development which is giving one the scope to be fast paced as it has a fixed and focused iteration.
  • There is also a flexibility for management as well as tracking of the projects that might support both the traditional as well as agile project management and gives a centralized and customization flexibility.
  • There is also a feature enabled in Jira Software for generation of reports like that of the BurnDown Chart, Sprint Chart, Velocity chart etc.
  • There are still room of improvements.
  • When it comes to using Jira Software in Mobile Phone as web version or as mobile version, it doesn't give a great UI / User friendly experience.
  • Follows some of the complex integration as well as migration from many of the different ALM systems.
  • The reports being generated are not reusable.
  • The UI in the application is a little cluttered and also the filtering is not very convenient to use.
