Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

We use it to manage our donor relationships. It is particularly helpful for managing interactions with donors (Actions) and the Address Radius tool for assessing where our supporters/prospects/alumni live. Individuals are able to create donor lists easily to sort and analyze constituent information, although it is limited. I like how I can easily access it by computer or on my iPhone. We also use it to send certain email marketing/fundraising messages.

  • Limited output of fields for Lists that are Exported
  • Online donation form is lacking functionality

  • Report builder is cumbersome
  • You took away Microsoft interface, makes acknowledgement letters harder
  • You took away import! Now it's another paid on. Tired of being charged more for prior functionality
  • Need to see longer gift history without having to click for more.

The dashboard has been helpful for a quick look at how our fundraising is faring compared with prior fiscal years. It is also fairly easy to pull data on current donors, lapsed and lost donors, which is helpful. The deeper insights are difficult to extract. If you don't use the report builder on a regular basis, it is easy to forget how to use it, and it is not intuitive.

It was somewhat helpful, but taking a one-hour class here and there may not have given us the depth of understanding that we need. Also, we added NXT after having Raiser's Edge for many years. I did not set up the RE structure in the system, so it is hard to use the database as it is designed because prior employees implemented work arounds.

Well suited for a fundraising team that needs easy access to donor information. Persons who meet with donors or prospects can use this information and update it easily. It is also good for an organization that has a long history, a large number of donors, and a dedicated data person.

It is fairly complex, so it is not necessarily the best fit for a smaller organization or fundraising team.
