Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series Switches

Our Catalyst 9300 switches send NetFlow and ETA data to StealthWatch. We are also leveraging it for Software-Defined Access using ISE, Rapid Threat Containment, and CyberVision OT management.
  • Software Defined Access.
  • Rapid Threat Containment.
  • Built in SSD for running apps like ThousandEyes and CyberVision.
  • NetFlow generation.
  • Pricing.
  • By leveraging a switch like this we don't have to roll trucks as often for implementations and replacements.
Using DNA Center to provision these switches has been a huge time saver. It helps keep the standard configurations deployed and in check.
We have not had to get too customized with these switches yet. Maybe as we do more enforcement with Software-Defined Access this will come up.
HP does not provide enhanced NetFlow, unable to really get insight into the encrypted traffic. Software-Defined Access seems to be more cumbersome in the Aruba framework.

Would you buy Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series Switches again?

When looking for a switch that can provide complete visibility into an environment and leverage it as a sensor then the Catalyst 9300 switch is a no-brainer. Other switches are restrictive and sometimes require you to purchase additional appliances. Hard to justify in a small office environment.
