Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series Switches

They are being used as Access Layer switches, and due to the capability such as POE+ that they provide, we can connect a number of corporate and build management devices on the access layer switches, for example:

- We have stacks of 4-6 9300 switches around the campus
- Wired Cooperate devices connected, i.e. Workstations etc
- Wireless Access Points
- CCTV, and other Building Management Services
The Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series Switches flexibility allows us to be able to technically achieve solutions that meet our business requirements to budget.
  • Multigigabit and Uplink Flexibility
  • They are design for High Availability and Redundancy
  • They are energy efficient and provide POE Support
  • Stack Technology
  • Simplified Licensing Models - This can be complex and not straightforward. i.e. Maintenance Licensing, DNA Licensing, etc.
  • Cost of the Switches - The switches are higher cost compared to some competing products.
  • Choosing the right networking solution requires a careful assessment of the organization's requirements and budget considerations. When we chose Cisco, it provided the security features and high performance we required to deliver our project on time and within budget.
  • Due to technology demands and the need for segmentation, we have been able to utilise the Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series Switches switch within a converged network connecting our corporate devices, Voice, CCTV and other BMS devices and provide a level of security between networks instead of duplicating network infrastructure to have devices physically connected on other switches.
Yes, we have been able to deploy Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series Switches within the field for our customers and then add them to Cisco Catalyst Centre Center.
We have definitely seen the advantages of Centralized Management. Where we have a single pane of glass for simplified network monitoring and troubleshooting.
Features such as the Image repository where you can add device roles or tags to switches to define as Access, distribution or core to apply different sets of IOS images for each roles and different times. This is significant in the day to day operations of business to have this flexibility.
Yes, there has been a scenario where we had to upgrade our uplinks from 10Gb to 25Gb, with the Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series Switches having modular flexibility, we were able to do it quite easily within a change window.
