Unmatched Combination of Security and Performance Features for Web Applications
Overall Satisfaction with Cloudflare
Cloudflare has helped make site security and content delivery performance accessible to any business. CloudFlare provides SSL, DDoS production, a content delivery network, caching and performance features and more even on their free plan. On top of the power CloudFlare includes for the price, the setup process is extremely straightforward and fast, and an average developer can configure it in an hour or two. No need for a dev-ops team to spend weeks and a lot more money trying to come up with a similar solution.
Pros
- Easy to implement security and performance features making it a choice for all sites we launch whether they are more static business sites, eCommerce sites, or especially web applications.
- Low cost and robust free plan make it an easy choice for the peace of mind performance/production it adds with minimal configuration.
- Gives web applications and websites the infrastructure they want, whether they are big or small.
Cons
- CloudFlare now offers so many features including video streaming and image resizing, that it might be difficult for those who aren't familiar with them to quickly grasp why they need CloudFlare.
- No need to worry about DDoS attacks.
- Easy to configure content delivery network.
- Page rules allow us to turn features of CloudFlare on and off for sections of our application.
Compared to CloudFront, CloudFlare provides a great deal of value beyond simply being a content delivery network (CDN). We have found ourselves in some cases using Amazon CloudFront in combination with CloudFlare because we might have a bunch of assets stored in Amazon S3 which we want to have available via a CDN easily and CloudFront provides that.
We still want the other performance and security features offered by CloudFlare though so CloudFront cannot be seen as a direct replacement unless all your company wants is a CDN.

Yes - While it took time to get the bug to the right person, eventually we were able to speak with the product manager of that feature in order to communicate the issue and the issue was then able to be resolved.
The initial requests to support took a bit to be taken seriously or looked into further, but once we got to the right channels, the issue was handled professionally, and we were happy with the support we received about the issue.

Previously on the free or Pro plan with Cloudflare, we were unable to get the support we needed. Complex issues seemed to never be resolved, and we had to jump through hoops explaining issues multiple times.
That said, after upgrading to an Enterprise plan, the support we've received has been stellar, immediate, and much more knowledgeable. We doubted Cloudflare's support before signing an Enterprise agreement, and we were happily shown that Cloudflare could provide the level of support we were looking for after joining their Enterprise plan.
Very complex issues have been able to get almost immediate resolutions via phone support when needed.
