Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense

Concur makes it easy to do expense reports. It's mostly automated so that all we have to do is upload receipts and enter the parameters, and the report is submitted so the reps can be reimbursed. It's easy from the approver's side as well to alert the rep with some questions or to simply approve the report.
  • Ease of use. It's simple to use Concur for the first time with no assistance and start submitting reports. There's also an app for mobile use.
  • Uploading receipts. You have the option of taking photos of receipts and having them automatically sent to Concur or you can upload receipt photos one at a time.
  • I would like to see the duplication feature not be so strong. For example, if you frequently have a $20 gas charge from the same station, it may flag it as a duplicate.
  • There are certain mandates for expenses to be added without being flagged like there need to be multiple attending a dinner for example and their names must be added. I understand the need for this but it can be a little tedious for the user.
  • Concur has saved reps time submitting reports due to the ease of categorizing expenses, uploading receipts and booking travel.
  • Concur has assisted management with ease of use as well, and the flagging functionality has helped to eliminate any mistakes or in rare cases, fraudulent expenses by reps.
Concur is in my experience the most reliable and the quickest option for expense and travel. Everyone is in one place, frequently used expense categories are saved which makes the next report submission go even quicker, and receipts are easy to upload and enter via the app or the full site. Expensify has very similar functionality, it just doesn't offer the travel option and can be a touch glitchy on occasion, but I would choose Expensify if budget is a primary concern.
As a user I haven't utilized or am not aware of any ERP system that has been integrated with Concur.
Concur has certainly helped with submitting expense reports quickly and efficiently, and getting reimbursed quickly. Expense reports are a necessary part of doing business, particularly for sales organizations that require significant travel, and reps can get bogged down with a timely or challenging process. On the management side, even during busy months, it's easy and quick to approve reports, so any holdup on that end is avoided.
Concur has benefitted employees by making the expense submission process simple. Receipts can be uploaded quickly using the app or the website. The admin can quickly view the reports to search for any red flags where a receipt is missing, or when an expense is duplicated on a current or previous expense report. This helps save the company money overall, and the quick reimbursement process helps to keep reps engaged with their sales processes rather than when they will be reimbursed for expenses.
Concur is terrific for a sales organization that has many reps and needs checks and balances about travel and expenses. For organizations where significant flight and hotel travel is involved, Concur can be especially useful because flights and hotels can be booked right from the site. I have found fewer expense competitors with less functionality that might be better suited for startups or small businesses, however.

Concur has been very easy to use; after 5 years of using it I've never once looked up how to contact support. If there are any errors in my report, a red exclamation mark will come up that will explain how to resolve the issue. It's intuitive and user friendly.
  • Entering and categorizing various expenses
  • Uploading receipts and attaching them to corresponding expenses
  • Some expenses are flagged as duplicates that actually are not; to minimize this from happening I sometimes change the cents slightly (0.1 instead of 0.3 for example) but I haven't yet found an expense reporting system that doesn't flag expenses that have the same dollar amount and the same location but with a different date.
  • It's very rare that I've called the support line but when I did I had a significant hold time (30+ minutes). I haven't tried it enough times to confirm whether this is the norm, so I could well have called on a busy day/time.
Concur has allowed my organization to have numerous representatives submitting expense reports with little to no training. It has also helped when booking travel, to ensure that flights and hotels are booked from a single place, saving time shopping around a variety of website, and ensuring a certain standard of flight and hotel are met while falling within an allocated budget.
Concur is simple to implement and use, and any department that needs to submit expenses or book travel can quickly learn it and get up to speed. It also provides management with insights into the expenses in a particular department, and can help ensure that expenses and travel stay within a budget.
We did not integrate Concur Travel and Expense with any software programs. Our teams did research the integration options with SAP Concur Solutions which appear to be robust and can improve the user experience, but using Concur stand-alone has been sufficient for our team to submit expense reports along with booking flight and hotel accommodations.

Yes - The mobile interface works very well. It's easy to take a picture of a receipt and upload it to the corresponding expense. Booking travel and hotels are also easy on mobile, I've never run into any issues with scrolling like I have on some other mobile sites. My preference is to use the desktop site simply because I like to use the full screen and the keyboard but I have used the mobile site for submitting entire expense reports and booking travel, and it's worked fine.
