Overall Satisfaction with DigitalPersona Altus

Digital Persona Altus is being used by our entire organization for fingerprint login to active directory and several applications as well as self reset of active directory passwords. This helps address issues with password resets as well as allows for an extra level of security with user login into PCs.

Pros

  • Works well with different web applications.
  • Syncs seamlessly into Active Directory.
  • Captures fingerprints at a high rate of success.

Cons

  • Does not interact well across multiple browsers.
  • Upgrades are not as smooth as one would like.
  • Tech support is on West Coast, leading to delays in response to East/Midwest companies.
  • Less password resets
  • Minimized risk score
Windows, Kronos, Ultipro (via Citrix), our Clinical system, CMHC. (Both web app & terminal emulator), Dynamics GP, Medifax.
Digital Persona Altus is well suited for a Microsoft Active Directory deployment as well as environments with multiple web applications. Digital Persona Altus is less appropriate for non-networked environments, where administration of the product would be much more difficult.
