Overall Satisfaction with Druva inSync

Most of our infrastructure is virutalized, but with merger and acquisition activity, there are always some physical server workloads in the wild. We use Phoenix to make sure we have accurate and timely backups of all these physical resources in the wild.

Pros

  • unattended backups
  • deduplication
  • ease of install/management

Cons

  • personally, I find the menu structure to review a particular backup job cumbersome
  • we need the ability to have API driven (agentless) backups of Azure server workloads
  • for IaaS, phoenix must be cost competitive to platform backup services in AWS, Azure, etc.
  • displaced other existing, on-prem backup solutions
  • allowed our IT services team to do more w/ less
  • transparent impact on servers/resources
Better price points, smart use of AWS storage, good fit for our use-cases
Great for physical servers, virtual depends on the workload - highly configurable by use-case.
