Overall Satisfaction with Dynatrace

Dynatrace is being used across our organization. From an Ops perspective, Dynatrace has more than exceeded our expectations. Gone are the days where Infrastructure was first to blame for everything--Dynatrace provides a clear visualization of where problems lie and even suggests possible resolution. Empowering our users--from DevOps to marketing; management to procurement- to self-service has also freed-up resourcing that can be better spent elsewhere. So great!
  • Ease of root-cause analysis
  • Visual representation of end-to-end
  • Having to move logs to the cluster for analysis is a show-stopper. That's what Splunk is for; don't need duplication.
  • A lot of the fields are cut-off and hard to read and the order of lists often changes on the current use of items in the Smartscape topology. It can be difficult trying to find things.
  • Root-cause analysis frees up resources
  • Proactive app/site improvement increases client engagement/retention
The two are completely different.
Dynatrace support is beyond amazing. Every agent is beyond intelligent and really knows their stuff.

Dynatrace is great from an infrastructure and application perspective. It does work best in environments that are well-architected but that's not something Dynatrace can control. It is nice to get a visual to show how things can be improved.
