Overall Satisfaction with Gliffy
We use Gliffy across the organization as a plugin-in to Confluence. With the need to document in diagram, workflow, and picture form Gliffy is able to give us a simple tool to get our point across easily. Given our dependence on information and knowledge storage in Confluence a tool that can be embedded and maintained directly in the pages is invaluable.
- Many templates to utilize as a quick start.
- Embedded inside of Confluence pages.
- Clean visual interface and objects.
- It is not as robust as higher end tools in regards to object options and breadth of visualization options.
- Some versions of Gliffy were buggy and work was lost.
- Always felt like the properties box should be persistent, not a selection each time you needed it displayed.
- Knowledge is easily visualized.
- The time it takes to create workflows that are in line with business processes is drastically decreased as compared to PowerPoint.
- All information and knowledge is in one spot.
Visio has been the standard of what I have considered to be the go-to diagramming product. Gliffy holds its own and while I haven't used Visio for a while I don't know where there would be substantial advantages to using Visio over Gliffy. The functionality is comparable and I don't remember any gaps that I felt were worth keeping in mind.
