Overall Satisfaction with Google Drive

Google Drive allows us to share documents on project teams.
  • Easy to set up - add users and create folders.
  • People are familiar with the product since many have used it for personal files.
  • Doesn't cost anything if you don't have large files you need to upload.
  • Navigation could be easier - hard to get back to the folders sometimes.
  • Often the sign-in gets confused if you have more than one google account.
  • The option to open files with Google Docs is confusing. Some users will start editing the document in the tool and save a Google docs file instead of Excel or Word document.
  • Have been able to collaborate on work without a big investment in software/storage.
Intralinks has better organization and more features, but it is unreliable. Many times the site is down or can't connect. Since there is a sync option, users sometimes get confused and delete items out of the shared site when they only meant to delete it from their computer.
Google Drive is well suited for a situation where you need to share something relatively quickly and don't need complex security or folder organization.
