Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Within our enterprise, we use IBM MQ for communication between applications.
We are also extensively using the filetransfer component MQFT.

Better performance on mqft filetransfer, when agents are far apart. (latency)
Easier api for developers.
next to mqtt, have an open standard, free to use? I see that other products, kafka are increasingly becoming the "messaging standard."

Return on Investment

Being a stable well supported product for a long time. Proven technology, it keeps engineers / administrator who are supporting the product 24/7 without stress. (no strange bugs)
Product is kept the same, meaning what has been build 20 years ago, will still keep working in future.
support from IBM on community / PMR is good.

Support Rating

For PMR's we get good support.

I love the mqseries.net community, which also helps alot.

MQ ( Based on DB2 logging ) has a very strong logging system.

Its superb in sending messages from application. A to B, where the single (persistent) message will only be send once, and with all kinds of scenarios/ (machines poweroff / datacentre down) etc etc, this single one message will arrive on destination.

IBM MQ stable and good since at least 20 years.
