Overall Satisfaction with IBM Security MaaS360

We use it to control data usage on our 75 deployed iPads. We know if the devices are being utilized and limit the use of these devices to corporate interests. We know the location and can reassign an iPad as needed to a different or new user. There are less employee calls for support as we can tailor the applications to minimize the variations in setup.
  • Data usage. It allows shared data plans that minimize costs.
  • It allows deployment of new applications with minimum interaction with users.
  • It allows constant location information and we know if an iPad is lost sometimes before the device user knows it is missing.
  • Simplify the set up of the account. The time required by an it ameture is excessive.
  • Reduce the cost of the per device subscription
  • Allow simplified device management
  • We were able to reduce our monthly bill for iPad data usage by well over 60%. Simply by limiting the applications available to what was absolutely necessary to do their jobs.
  • We have never had an iPad lost that couldn’t be recovered.
  • We were able to reassign iPads when we discovered techs were not using them. Some techs preferred to use their company phones.
Nothing about IBM Security MaaS360 was easy. Setup was difficult and the initial deployment of applications was cumbersome. At the time, data prices were the reason we sent with management software. Now with low data prices we are not using IBM Security MaaS360 anymore.Maas360 is probably better suited for large organizations with dedicated it teams.
It’s just too complex for an ameture IT manager to understand and deploy without a background or training in IBM Security MaaS360. It took a lot of effort but eventually we got it deployed and were very pleased with the end result. Take time ri get someone trained before you begin using it.
Maas 360 is the Cadillac of management software. Jamf was considered but I found it not quite as encompassing as Maas360. The ability too direct specific software programs and exclude all others was eventually what sent us to Maas360. Again, The time and effort to configure Maas360 is significant for a small business but in the end it paid for itself in data charges that were a lot lower than buying the dats that had be.en previously used.

Did implementation of IBM Security MaaS360 go as expected?

No

Would you buy IBM Security MaaS360 again?

Yes

For new device setup and deployment it’s fairly easy. Getting off the ground with the initial setup is tough. It needs to be easier to get going. Training a new device manager is not straightforward. It requires too much tutoring to get someone proficient in changing, adding, and deleting devices.
