Overall Satisfaction with Infusionsoft

Infusionsoft was used by our company to sell to new contacts that came to our site through social media marketing and blog contact. Infusionsoft was brought on to solve our company's automation issues that other companies were too limited to solve.
  • Infusionsoft is a lower price than some comparisons.
  • Infusionsoft looked like an all in one solution from e-commerce to newsletters and of course automation.
  • Infusionsoft promises easy to use solutions with great support.
  • Infusionsoft has a second name... confusionsoft... it certainly is and seems to be a great solution but... it is a massive drain on any small businesses' resources and can easily derail a marketing team from focusing on content and real unique strategy.
  • Are you looking for API integrations?... or any integrations of worth? Skip Infusionsoft.
  • We were lucky to get a great rate with Infusionsoft... we got a reduced rate from wanting to cancel and basically got a $500 monthly subscription for $130 a month! Unfortunately the reduced rate was still too expensive for the amount of time we were wasting on trying to make Infusionsoft work for us.
  • Infusionsoft overall was a time drain. We worked with John (sales rep working on retention) for a year. He gave us a 75% discount on the software, but we should have left the software earlier and not wasted our time.
  • Infusionsoft kept us from focusing on our client and rather [than] making automation and that kept us from focusing on REAL personal connection. Keep it simple...Infusionsoft doesn't.
  • If you are looking for automation, keep it simple. Use a product like MailChimp or if you are B2B and service based, then Salesforce Salescloud.
We chose Infusionsoft because we wanted an all in one... unfortunately it did not deliver and caused much more effort because it was not as customizable. Now we recommend the other solutions that we came from (MailChimp or Salesforce)... yes, there are more solutions, but they are all specialized. Look for API integration in the solutions you are looking to use. Sometimes several solutions are better than an all in one.
We have tried several CRMs and automated marking software. Infusionsoft is able to do a lot, but there are much more powerful solutions for small businesses (MailChimp automation) and mid-sized businesses (Pardot Salesforce). Infusionsoft is a hands off solution for businesses not interested in communicating with their clients. If that is you, then this is great. We believe in customer interaction and so it won't work for us.

Using Infusionsoft

5 - The team using Infusionsoft functioned as out content creators (marketing team) and sales teams. Infusionsoft is a great tool for products and less so for services. Service inquiries are so customized, you would drive yourself crazy trying to come up with logic based auto-replies (because that is what Infusionsoft is) to meet most peoples demands. Our sales team was most disappointed because the software is more set and forget, so it was difficult to keep relevant inquiries on a usable dashboard...
5 - Content Team- You need to create your own content to drive people to fill out a form on your website.

Infusionsoft Development Team- Great, so someone filled out a form on your site. Now what? You have to create the automation that will appear customized to their inquiry... what product or service are they interested in? How much of your site have they already reviewed. Are they a hot or cold lead?

Sales Team- Now that someone filled out a form and the system is auto-marketing to them (and you hope it is doing that correctly) you need someone who will reach out to them and sell... Well, we did anyway due to the high value of our service we offered. Potential customers had questions and we needed to answer them... something Infusionsoft wasn't able to effectively do.
  • If you are selling a product and you do NOT need personal communication in the sales process, this really could be for you!
  • If you are looking for Automation because you are afraid to communicate with your client... Maybe you have talked yourself into the idea that you are NOT a good sales person... this could be for you
  • If you have a very small team and need to rank how serious prospects are, this might be for you (it also might frustrate your client and drive them away prematurely)
  • If you are a "techie" and feel that technology will help you through the sales process (and I am a techie and I thought that... and it does, but wow, it consumes a tremendous amount of time before you can really get started)
  • Infusionsoft displays the weather on a clients page and the time in their time zone... Pretty useful in generating small talk.
  • We used "My Day" the task manager list for what was due. That was the only way we were able to keep on top of people... otherwise, the information was kind of lost...
  • Customized lists! There is NOTHING in Infusionsoft that is preset. Everything has to be developed by you and your team. So if you are looking for clients that have come to your site most recently, you will need to create a list with those specifications and then add that list to the dashboard. Just very time consuming...
  • We are still deciding if we can use Infusionsoft... We started at a $500 per month plan for marketing and eCommerce. Even with some promotions thrown in to keep us (now we pay less that $150) I am not sure if we will stick with it... The cost to create a working system is so high...
  • Other than marketing, Infusionsoft offers eCommerce. We tried to integrate this in, but there are just too many fantastic services out there like Shopify with better layouts that lead to higher sales... Again, it was a bit of a time drain trying to incorporate the eCommerce in to the picture... We never really used it after trying for a few months.
  • Content Site. Did you know Infusionsoft offers another product that hosts your digital content that you sell to your clients. If you sell pdf's or instructional products via prerecorded video, then you should take a look at Infusionsoft because it incorporates this site into Infusionsoft. Again, over kill and bloating of what should be an easy system...
We realized we were spending countless hours tweaking Infusionsoft rather than creating content and selling. Clients were not interested in interacting with automation (I don't blame them, neither do I). The last straw was the mass e-mailer... In the address line (from), it did not display our company or the sales person, it displayed " mailto:mailer@infusionmail.com " Yikes! basically even our most valued customers thought we were spamming them. From inside Infusionsoft if you wrote a personal e-mail to a customer, it still said the e-mail was from: mailto:mailer@infusionmail.com

This software claims to automate and customize... far from it when your e-mails that you are sending are from mailto:mailer@infusionmail.com

Evaluating Infusionsoft and Competitors

Yes - We used MailChimp before but were craving more integration. We moved to Infusionsoft with this in mind. Unfortunately it was not a good solution and ended up wasting our time. If your focus is to NOT communicate with clients, and you know you can make money with this strategy, then Infusionsoft is a good choice. We needed customer communication and so it wasn't for us.
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
We were looking for an all in one solution. It is, but does not allow any additional HELPFUL APIs. This is so important as no software can really stand alone. Take a look at Salesforce... great solution and can be built to work alone, but tons of integrations.
Once we decided to move away from Infusionsoft about a year ago, we should have. Instead, we were offered a 75% discount and stuck with the software trying to make it work. Time and money wasted when there are so many better easier solutions to use! We should have gone with our guts and left.

Using Infusionsoft

We really tried to love Infusionsoft... we even were given a much reduced rate after we tried to cancel... $150 vs $500!) But even that didn't keep our attention. We moved on to Salesforce and look forward to real sales in our B2B atmosphere and will add Pardot later on even though it is 2x the price... it is worth it!
ProsCons
Consistent
Feel confident using
Do not like to use
Unnecessarily complex
Difficult to use
Requires technical support
Not well integrated
Slow to learn
Cumbersome
Lots to learn
  • Overall look for the system looked good but that did not translate in ease of use
  • campaign manager was easier to use once you studied how to use it
  • Reporting was a bear! If you are looking for easy to build intuitive reports, forget it. But you can build anything you want, if you learn how and have the time to figure it out.
  • Billing... pay $2000 upfront to learn basically nothing... but at least you can get out quickly thereafter. Just decide to do it sooner rather than later if you are stuck in the details.
  • We couldn't cancel without a chat seminar. We actually got billed for our last month because they wouldn't let us out even though we canceled early! Let us go and keep moving on to something better.
No - No... just a normal user interface, but you can't run campaigns on a mobile platform
