Overall Satisfaction with Jama Connect
Jama Connect has been invaluable to our organization as a common place to host our product's specifications (user needs, system and module requirements, system interface), testing (test cases and traceability), as well as risk management documentation. All of our recent projects make use of Jama Connect and is used by the majority of our engineers.
- Traceability from user needs to system requirements, system requirements to system tests and module requirements, module requirements to module tests
- Ability to create and define items and relationships to enable custom workflows
- Versioning, keeping track of changes, and locking items
- Easy way to add comments for each change in the items
- Cross-project linkage and ability to share items between projects
- Easy way to create custom templates
- Groups that utilize Jama Connect, generally have a more streamlined workflow compared to groups that don't fully utilize Jama Connect's capabilities.
- When groups are diligent in keeping their items are kept up-to-date in Jama Connect, they have an easier time seeing the history and progression of development as well planning for the next iteration of the product compared to groups who don't.
- Jama Connect as allowed for more consistency among groups, which is important especially in a regulated environment.
While using Jama Connect, we expect to have an effortless and scalable experience creating requirements, test cases, and trace matrices and to aide in our defined processes to operate in a regulated environment. With the majority of the teams using Jama Connect, we have achieved these outcomes due to the ease of use and the capabilities of Jama Connect.
Compared to other technologies I have used to manage requirements, Jama Connect has been a good tool that is user-friendly and has been satisfying our needs. Other tools I have tried where either not that intuitive or were too cumbersome to adapt. With the access levels we have for Jama Connect, basically everyone is able to contribute in Jama Connect, creating items, sending them for reviews and checking on the traceability. The process we have in place in using Jama Connect has been working out well for us.
