Overall Satisfaction with Jamf Pro
Jamf Pro makes my job so much easier. Building policies, scoping, gathering data on client machines, it's all easier with Jamf. It's used by our IT department to manage all Macs company-wide. It helps us manage important security aspects of managing Macs and giving other IT staff access to auditing and support without exposing them to too much information or allowing them to have privileges they shouldn't.
- Easy to upgrade when a new version comes out
- Easy to use web app
- Integrates with multiple services and provides a great user base of knowledge.
- The bugs fixed or product issue descriptions can be very vague when listed in the release notes of a new version. It can be hard to tell if we want to upgrade since we're not sure how a certain issue might affect us, if at all.
- Jamf is limited in many ways by what Apple allows, but sometimes there is room for improvement, specifically regarding the way Configuration Profile payloads are handled. They're too "all or nothing" and I end up having to do custom payloads so that I can just do the 2 settings I want, rather than those 2 and the 6 hidden settings that are grouped in with it.
- Jamf Pro has reduced the overall support time spent on individual issues, gathering information, or applying policy changes to the organization's Macs. So it's had a positive impact overall.
Completely different products, but Jamf Pro is so much easier to use. It's also geared primarily for Apple devices, which isn't always the case when working in an enterprise environment. You don't want to use something that was built with Windows in mind and sort of copied over but crippled for the Mac. Jamf puts the Mac first.
