Overall Satisfaction with KeePass

We have a large set of different tools which come with different credentials in our company as single sign on is only slowly being distributed amongst all our systems. Also we have some shared secrets like tokens for M2M accounts or systems like vault which we use on our local development systems. To be able to manage so many credentials, we use KeePass. I have a local KeePass file for my personal credentials and also a shared one for shared secrets.
  • Overview over my credentials
  • Management of my credentials
  • Input of username and password
  • Shortcuts
  • Shortcut for only putting in the password, without username
  • Using two KeePass documents at once
  • Saves lots of time
  • Easy to maintain
  • Helpful for shared secrets
Dashlane was less intuitive and the feature to automatically fill forms with username and password wasn’t working as good as KeePass. Also managing it, creating new passwords etc. took more time.

Do you think KeePass delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with KeePass's feature set?

Yes

Did KeePass live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of KeePass go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy KeePass again?

Yes

The pasting of username and password works really well with just one shortcut. Also the overview over all credentials and the details you can provide are pretty helpful. I like that there are shortcuts for different scenarios and that they are chosen intuitively. It’s also easy to install and e.g. share KeePass documents with others if you use shared secrets like tokens for systems or machine accounts.
