Overall Satisfaction with Kendo UI

We use Kendo as the backbone of our Angular based, client facing applications. Primarily, this consists of charts and grids, which as a data service are extensive throughout the application. Clients log in to see our data on a regular basis, and the tools have to serve a wide range of platforms and browsers, and be quick and efficient on all fronts. Kendo does a strong job on this front.
  • Grids
  • Charts
  • Angular 1.6+ support
  • Map interactivity - heat maps in particular
  • Speed is sometimes an issue
  • Positive - It has kept us from rolling our own controls, which has increased the efficiency of developers
  • Positive - Broad market has meant it's relatively easy to find contractors who use this tool
  • Positive - Standardization of charts and grids across the product has made it easy for clients to have a consistent interface
We previously used DevExpress, and it was fine. We were embarking on a large project, and more people were familiar with Kendo than DevExpress, so we decided to standardize the platform with Kendo and move in that direction across all our work. It has been a fine move...however, I'm not sure DevExpress would have been a notably different experience.
It has broad support of a variety of grids - including sorting, movable columns, paging, etc. and charts - almost anything you can imagine. Kendo is a market leader, which means you're likely to find developers who have already worked with it, which helps improve the support of the application. Report generation has also been a strong suit for this suite.
