We use Matillion as our Enterprise ETL tool and data extractions to our clients. It is used by the Data Engineering and Analytics team.
It helps to extract, transform and load data to Analytic's data lake from production databases, and transform the data for analytics and BI purposes.

- Plug and play. You can install and start using it within a couple of hours including security and configurations.
- Build ETL packages and jobs with just minutes of effort.
- Matillion drastically reduces the ETL/Data engineering resources for an organisation. You develop and maintain enterprise ETL projects with just a few developers.
- Failed jobs could have a restart feature in between the packages.
- The YouTube tutorials and the Matillion forum could be still better presented and more accessible.
- Matillion reduces the need to have a bigger data engineering team.
- Matillion has reduced the timelines for all the ETL projects.
We pretty much finished the installation and basic configuration on the same day we signed on with Matillion. Learning about the transformations took about a couple of days from the Matillion tutorials, and the forum was helpful. We were able to start the implementation very soon after a few days of testing.
We evaluated Fivetran, TreasureData, StitchData and few other options. But only with Matillion did we have the option of a cloud-based ETL solution that we were able to host within the APAC-Sydney region to ensure our data stays within our region.
