Overall Satisfaction with Memsource

I use Memsource as a computer-assisted translation tool for Japanese-English academic texts. The program is excellent for maintaining a running comprehensive termbase across projects. Its search and replace features, coupled with the way it breaks down text and its filters, are outstanding for making seamless modifications across a whole project if you change your mind on a term later on, and for cross-checking with other sections of the paper. I use Memsource for all translation projects, from 500-character abstracts to 20-page full-length papers.
  • Term base management
  • Text filtering
  • Tools for consistency across large projects
  • Honestly, there's nothing. For every technical complaint I've had, I submitted a bug report on their website, and they were able to resolve them within hours to days. Their support is unbeatable.
  • Term base management
  • Easy upload/download
  • Extremely helpful customer support team
  • Increased productivity
  • Better end product
  • Improved professional image
I found Trados extremely unintuitive, and difficult to learn. I had to look up YouTube videos to learn how to do things. In contrast, Memsource I could largely figure out on my own without effort.
