Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Azure

Azure is currently being used by the research & development department for things such as ElasticSearch and Cortana Analytics to add into our applications. Our managed services team is also using Azure for Application Insights - an application monitoring system which tracks usage of our application. Our migration team uses Azure for hardware resources, spinning up multiple server instances to complete migrations.
  • The new portal is easy to use.
  • The ability to have free trials of the new features such as Cognitive services/Cortana Anaytics is great.
  • The elasticity of spinning up new hardware and only paying for what you use is really helpful for us.
  • The templates for spinning up new hardware are not flexible enough.
  • Application Insights is a fraction of the cost of some of the other vendors in the market that provide APM applications.
Have not evaluated things like AWS - We are a Microsoft Tech company and as a Microsoft Gold Partner we are entitled to Azure Credits each month.
Obviously difficult to answer as Azure has so many features now, some which are suitable for our organisation and some which aren't.

Cognitive Services is great and a real breakthrough in terms of AI and application insights provide us with real-time application monitoring at a fraction of the price of some of the other big players in this space.
