Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Teams
When I first started at my current company, employees across the entire organization were using Skype to communicate internally. Having a platform for instant messaging allows our employees to get a faster response than the standard email. Although any instant message platform is a step up from relying solely on email communication, I quickly realized we needed something better than the Skype application we were using. After learning about all the features Microsoft Teams has to offer, it was an easy sell to our executives to make the transition.
Pros
- Microsoft Teams allows employees across all departments to easily collaborate and communicate efficiently.
- Sharing large files has never been easier than with Microsoft Teams. As a marketing agency, we are constantly sharing large design files that are even too large to send via email. Microsoft Teams gives us the ability to easily drag and drop these large files into a chat to share with other departments.
- Our employees love using the chat function. Having shareable gifs and emojis allows for some fun while working. Being able to send a funny gif makes talking about tedious projects a little more enjoyable.
- The teams section allows our organization to create a place for each department to share recent wins, projects, and updates. At all times, employees can go to the teams tab and see what is happening in each department.
Cons
- There is no other platform or product with the same capabilities and ease of use than Microsoft Teams, I can't think of a single area they could possible improve.
- Microsoft Teams has significantly improved the way our employees communicate.
- Microsoft Teams has allowed an outlet for faster communication organizationally.
- The ability to share large files has made it easier for different departments to collaborate on projects.
- Skype for Business (formerly Lync)
Microsoft Teams trumps Skype for Business, which our company formerly used, in every possible way. Microsoft Teams allows a quirkier way for our employees to communicate, by incorporating fun gifs and emojis. Adding a little fun to the workday is positive all around. The ability to share large files and stay updated on each department helps to keep our employees on the same page and aware of what is going on organizationally.
