Overall Satisfaction with ON24

We use ON24 are our webinar platform. We host webinars mostly for our customers to educate them in on (new) features and functionalities in our Software. But at the same time we also host webinars aimed at potential customers to help with brand awareness and lead generations. ON24 helps us to make customers better informed about our product and gain leads for sales to follow up on.

Pros

  • Audience console that you can design completely to your organizations brand
  • A lot of engagement options during webinars, both live and on demand
  • A lot of data to report on and that we use for follow up
  • Integration with Hubspot that helps us with the automation AFTER a webinar

Cons

  • Easier integration options for Hubspot. The integration it pretty complex and not that out of the box
  • Pricing, they have a lot of cool features that for instance would really help with webinar but they come at a price which I often do not find in worth

We integrated ON24 with our marketing automation tool, Hubspot. And with the data we get from ON24 we send automated follow up emails (attendees & absentees). But we have also automated the process of information requests. So, when someone requests a certain piece of content through a Poll, we set up a workflow in Hubspot that automatically sends that piece of content to the requester. Or we notify the CSM to follow up with a customer with the content.
ON24 released new features on a regular basis, I think about twice per quarter. One of the improvements that I particularly liked is the updated UI for producers and presenters. It's much more modern and easy to use. For me as a preseter and/or producer it's now easier to work in the backend. Next to that, I've also requested features often like for instance reporting on e-mails send through ON24. And this is now also possible. So, I have the feeling that they take your requests serious and really look for input/feedback.
As we only use the Webinar tool of ON24 I can not give an opinion on a full digital experience. But from my experience with webinars is that it really is flexibel. You basically have a blanc canvas to set up your audience console and place the widgets you want to have activated at a place you find suitable. As well as for instance reminder emails. You can design an write them how ever you want. You are not restricted to anything.
ON24 offers way more branding and personalization options then GoTo did in the past. We currently are really able to set up the webinar consoles to our branding. Next to that On24 offer more engagement options. Also the reporting both per event and on account level are more extensive. We act ons this data regularly to see which webinars performed well and which not and how we could then potentially improve.

I think ON24 is very well suited for when you are a global operating organization and wanting to host webinars. It is really easy to schedule a webinar in different time zones. Next to that it's easy to create simulive webinar in order to make webinar available around the world I do think that ON24 is a little on the pricier side which might make the tool a little too expensive for smaller organizations.

ON24 and Communications During a Pandemic

Working in ON24 is pretty straight forward. Especially since the UI got an update. Setting up the basics, but also following the steps coming and you have a perfect webinar set up. Also with the default branding options it's easy to set up your registration pages and console because it's on brand straight away.

Using ON24

11 - Most people that work with ON24 are marketeeres. Our local marketeers are responsible for the local marketing programs and thus setting up the webinars. Next to that, our hosts are often consultants, customer success managers, business development managers or product owners. Wanting to inform our potentials or customers about our product.
1 - To support ON24 properly, you need to have basic common knowledge about webinars, the registration process (make proper decisions how you want to happen and where). Next to that some basic technical knowledge is nice to have to trouble shoot. And finally having some presentation skills is also nice so that you can guide your presenters throught he best webinars. Also, how to set it up and incorporate interaction and engagement.

we do think that the pricing of ON24 has gone up in the recent years and next to that more vendors have come up. So, currently the question is... is ON24 still worth it's value/pricing. And this is something we are currently thinking about and where we need to make a data driven decision.

Evaluating ON24 and Competitors

Yes - We replaced GoTo Webinar about 5 years ago for ON24. Basically GoToWebinar did not meet our requirements that we had at the time. And ON24 did, and at the same time offered us so much more. Most important to me are the engagement options that we now have. And the nice thing is that they keep improving these as well.

The tool is used globally which means for us that global support is really important. And at the same time having the correct integrations set up, for us Hubspot was really important.
But most important is the ease of use. Within a few clicks I can set up a webinars which really saves me time.
On24 has really cool features but some of those features do come at an additional license. And currently I do not have a proper case for it continuously which means that I do not have those cool new features (Like ACE). In the future I would inform more into licensing and how they deal with it and future products.

No we did not purchase premium support because this is not relevant in our case. We do not need it.
We had a live event running and we had connection issues and we called the emergency line and they really tried to help us out and go through all the logg files to see where it went wrong and if they could fix it.

Using ON24

It's easy to set up a webinar, to present in On24. It's all just pretty straight forward and easy to use. Nowadays I have colleagues up and running in about an hour and they can create events all by themselves.

The one thing I do find challening still is using the ON24 data in Hubspot through the integration. Both do not have sufficient knowledge to help out sometimes.
