Episerver Content Cloud

Overall Satisfaction with Optimizely Content Cloud (formerly Episerver Content Cloud)

We started small, using it to host our learning center content and marketing landing pages. We've been able to achieve great results and are moving forward with making Optimizely our CMS for all websites in our organization.
  • Personalization
  • Innovation
  • Intuitive content authoring
  • Recent acquisitions are not fully integrated into the solution, so the experience can be a bit choppy.
  • Built in A/B testing product is lacking in features that make it useful.
  • I would like to see better built-in reporting options for analyzing content.
  • I would like an option to import content via CSV spreadsheet or export fields via CSV.
  • Marketing can deploy new content without IT support.
  • Marketing can optimize to improve performance without high level of effort.
  • Marketing can create more content. More content = more opportunities.
As a content author, it can be a lot of clicking, but once you get the hang of it, it gets easy to navigate and work quickly.
We used a partner to help us stand up a small site within 90 days. I highly recommend using an experienced partner. This is not a DIY solution.
I think Optimizely is better because of its product roadmap and proven history of innovation. The product and support teams are easier to work with than other competitors I've used. Great customer support.

Would you buy Optimizely Content Management System again?

Yes

This is a best-in-class CMS. Be very specific in your requirements before building, as it can do almost anything you want it to, it just needs to be developed in a certain way. Best used for websites with a lot of content, like sales sites or blogs, or corporate sites. Probably not suitable for building a customer portal or logged-in interface.
