Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We utilize the following sections in our company: HR & Payroll, Employee Voice, Time & Labor, Expense Reports, Learning, Performance, Data Insights, Compensation Time and Attendance Tracking: Paylocity offers solutions for tracking employee hours and managing time-off requests. Employee Self-Service: Paylocity's employee self-service portal allows employees to access their pay information, request time off, and update personal information.
  • Availability for questions
  • Mobile app access
  • The system doesn't speak to each other and it is a lot of manual work to change things like titles
  • There are a lot of system issues with a lot of work arounds but not streamlined solutions
  • Time off benefit balance is very confusing because in HR and payroll it is not real time based on what is already used/requested it is based on paid out
  • Limited automatic candidate matching
  • When they make changes they don't update their own resource library in a timely manner
  • Had to create a dedicated team to manage the system because it is very manual and the weblinks don't offer a full solution.
  • Have to spend a lot of time working on issues on why the system isn't working the way we want it to and we don't always get a consistent answer when we call the account managers.
  • There is a lot of confusion with the time off benefit balance because HR and Payroll doesn't update until it is paid out but that is what employees see in the app. Time off every year is a hassle and very time consuming because we do lump sum at the beginning of the year and the system isn't built for that.
The automation isn't a 360 automation. For example, to change a title, you need to change it in the employment position section, then go to the assignments tab and change it in the unmapped labor level, and if they are salaried you need to change the labor allocation. If they have a pay raise you can't change it at the same time because the check dates differ so it's another area you have to go in and manage. There are many areas in the system like this where you have to change the same thing in multiple areas in the system. We had to create a team just to manage the system because it was too time consuming for the existing team.
This is a hard question, because we just got news that these features have or will be changing and we will now have to start paying for them and I am not sure if we will be moving forward with those features, but the issue is we already have things built out from that so it doesn't put Paylocity as a company in a good light for me as an administrative user.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

No

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

No

Would you buy Paylocity again?

No

If you are a small company that is set up exactly how Paylocity as a company is set up in workflows and processes then the system works great. If you aren't there are a lot of workarounds that take time and effort. You almost need a dedicated person to manage the system.
