Overall Satisfaction with Pure Storage FlashBlade
This is used for high-speed cross-platform unstructured file storage.
- Ease of connectivity
- Fast storage
- Great Deduplication
- Security options are limited
- SMB connectivity was limited
- Fairly expensive initial cost
- Steady maintenance costs makes easy budgting
- Hitachi Network Attached Storage Platform (HNAS)
Pure is both more expensive and less configurable than the excellent HNAS. However, the HNAS is now dependent upon Hitachi storage. The Flashblade is a self-contained unit, which helps reduce cross-platform lock-in. It's not mandatory to have Pure block storage to use the Flashblade.
- Despite being some of our most expensive storage, it is excellent for quick backups and recoveries of critical systems.
- It really aids disaster recovery testing, providing quick accessible storage for scratch space to test procedures.
