Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Online Advanced
I use QuickBooks Online for ensuring our company is paid for the inventory sold through our distribution channels. Ensuring all our Accounts Receivable are up to date and no payments remain outstanding.
- Financial Information is protected with encrypted technology
- Tracking system for all expenses are well categorizes and easily accessible
- Training for users is useful for anyone who may not be familiar with the platform
- Customization for business and industries would be helpful
- Annual cost of product is higher than other software on market
- QuickBooks Online replaced a full time bookkeeper in one of my companies
- I was able to retrieve quick reports for my monthly meetings with my CEO.
- I also had a clear idea of my outgoing expenses for creating a budget for fundraising.
Setup time takes a few hours even for a novice user thanks to the training that is provided. In a matter of a few days, I was able to start getting familiar with the tracking system and reports for accounts payable and receivables. I would suggest QuickBooks Online training as they have put a lot of time and effort into explaining the details online and on YouTube.
Having access to QuickBooks Online on my mobile has been a game-changer for tracking expenses, mileage, and travel expenses. In marketing and business development, you are on the go and are working remotely from your car between meetings. I have found the features on the mobile to be not only time saving but also cost-saving. There are a number of times I have charged items on my personal account which I didn't remember to put in my business expenses. Thanks to QuickBooks Online has saved me thousands in reimbursements and expenses tracking.
I feel though the customization of reports doesn't apply to our industry I can speak to the advantages of reporting generally in earlier industries where it was helpful in fundraising and tracking donors, tracking expenses, receipts, tax donations, etc.
- Sage 50cloud Accounting (formerly Sage 50 Accounting)
Sage was a better fit for established, growing organizations whereas QuickBooks Online was a simpler system for startups and small to mid-sized businesses. In one of my companies, we had a CFO who preferred the product due to the customization. Our bookkeeper, in a smaller non-profit, preferred the QuickBooks platform for its intuitive design. It really depends on what size of organization you are looking at. Sage offered more tailored industry-specific business management options but the cost difference also was apparent for the customization. It depended on many factors.
