Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write
We have been using the Read&Write app for years at the school and works very well. Now that we've moved over to Chromebooks we use the Read&Write/ Orbitnote Extension and this equally works very well. The click to speak feature is a lot easier to use and quicker than the drag to speak feature. Always receive regular emails with any product updates which is helpful. The Orbit Note app is very easy to use and allows students to open PDF's from Google Shared Drives which is also very useful.
- Click to Speak - allows students to use the text to speech element
- Orbit Note app works very well on the Chromebooks
- The settings are easy for the students to adjust the pitch, speed and other aspects of the voices
- The Read&Write toolbar doesn't appear to be fully compatible with touchscreen - would be nice to see that improved
- It has allowed students to use equipment without the need for a Human reader. This frees up staff for other tasks and the students tend to prefer the Read&Write / Orbitnote app for the customization of the voices.
It's good to know that we have a reliable learning aid that is easily available to students and staff with no hassle of unique installs. It is deployed to the school and mainly used on the Chromebooks and works well. The fact that it works so well on the Chromebooks is important to use as we use these for the majority of the students
